Where fashion and cycling intersect.

Carhartt WIP is a brand with a heritage in tough workwear that has long been connected to a range of cultures, including music, skateboarding, and art.

OMNIUM, meanwhile, was developed by messengers as a tool for their work. The company has expanded the possibilities of cargo bikes, from everyday transportation and loaded rides to practical tools for getting the job done.

The tough, functional, no-frills ethos of workwear has been adopted by many street cultures over the years, becoming established not only as fashion but as a way of life.

Likewise, track bikes, first ridden by messengers as practical work tools, became part of street culture and are now a part of everyday life for many people.

Just as workwear became streetwear and messengers’ track bikes became a style of the city, cargo bikes are next.

Today, messengers are switching to cargo bikes to accommodate the changing loads they carry. Carhartt WIP was among the first to respond to this shift. That’s at the heart of this collaboration.

Copenhagen messenger company by-Expressen, which developed OMNIUM cargo bikes, is a world-renowned cargo-bike messenger outfit whose riders consistently place among the top finishers at international messenger championships.

Cargo bikes may still be unfamiliar in the context of fashion.
But they are not some unusual, specialized bicycles. As cities shift from being car-centered to people-centered, cargo bikes are making their mark in logistics, serving as practical everyday tools and beginning to be embraced for recreation.

As cities rethink how they are designed, many across Europe are already offering subsidies for cargo bike purchases and upgrading existing bike lanes to accommodate them.

Created in this context, the collaboration between Carhartt WIP and OMNIUM heralds the beginning of an era in which cargo bikes move beyond cycling into fashion, everyday life, and recreation.

A highly refined cargo bike

For this collaboration, the OMNIUM Mini-Max serves as the platform for OMNIUM’s first cargo bike made from stainless steel. A clear coat brings out the material’s distinctive sheen, while the beautiful welds and heat-induced color variations are deliberately left visible as part of the finish.

DT Swiss cargo wheels, cargo webbing, lock-on foam grips, a titanium-railed saddle, special-edition pedals, and MKS × Carhartt WIP XC-III “Beartrap” pedals.

Resistant to rain and rust, it retains a simple, rugged industrial feel and is finished with distinctive components down to the smallest details.

It looks right at home parked in a garage or outside a shop, and like a duck canvas jacket that gains character with wear, this bike develops more character as a tool the more you use it.

In a new urban landscape

As cities become increasingly people-centered, cargo bikes are sure to become a more familiar part of the urban landscape.

Whether carrying goods for work, starting a small business, riding with children or pets, or heading out with gear for an adventure, cargo bikes will become everyday transportation—and the ultimate practical vehicle—in a car-free lifestyle.

One bike for grocery runs, hauling camping gear, and getting around every day. That changes the way we relate to bicycles themselves.

It’s no longer just about speed and efficiency, but what you wear, where you go, who you spend time with, what you carry, and how you enjoy the journey.

The Mini-Max is a bike that embodies this shift.
