The moment I opened the box from our latest shipment, I was momentarily possessed.
Or maybe, just maybe, I had been waiting for this moment all along.
I had already put a lot of miles into my My Doppo ATB (please note that it will be updated and renamed the Doppo Ronin moving forward), and with an Outershell Rack Bag and the SimWorks × Golden Pliers Ramble Bar, it felt like a perfectly tuned, relaxed tourer—the final form, I thought, but then...

I was satisfied with it just as it was.
The carrying capacity, everything—it was just right.
I could do everything from day trips to bike packing.

This is fine. This is good.
That’s what I thought this summer, and yet, I went and did it.

It’s all summer’s fault.

Pass and Stow 5 Rail Rack
I stayed behind in Nagoya during this year's MADE BIKE SHOW, watching the reports from our staff who went to the US and soaking in all the information with envious eyes. The thing that caught my interest most was the “SuperChill BikePacking Adventure,” which seemed to take place after the show, hosted by SimWorks USA.
It was a bike packing tour held for the builders who had exhibited at the MADE BIKE SHOW.
Seeing the bike style from La Marche in the mix was incredibly cool.

Seeing their modern take on things let my imagination run wild (or rather, I just got jealous), and when they arrived in our latest shipment from the US, I finally decided to install one on my My Doppo ATB.

Honestly, it’s just so cool.
The careful weld marks, the smooth form—you can truly enjoy the charm of handmade craftsmanship that has been poured into every detail.
Plus, it’s light.

Despite its rugged look, it’s lightweight because it’s made from hollow tubing.
Because it uses hollow tubing, you can route the wiring for a dynamo light through the inside.

It’s a feature that addresses the exact needs of a touring bike. I think this feature alone makes it worth installing (personal opinion).

Also, my Doppo currently has fenders, and I was able to route the fender stays through the notch where the panniers hook onto this rack, allowing it to be installed almost as a direct bolt-on.

This might be a unique case, but another great thing about this rack is that it can be installed with minimal modification, almost as a direct fit.

This Y-shaped stay is the secret to why it’s so easy to mount. They’ve done such great work; I was amazed by this mechanism.
It has the ingenuity and the human touch that only comes with handmade items. It’s a beautifully executed piece of product design.
My body... or rather, my cells reacted, and I installed it almost on impulse. But looking at it calmly, I’ve rationalized the impulse by defining it as a front rack that is a perfect match for my needs:
- Since it’s a handmade bike, I want to pair it with something handmade.
- It serves as my bike for touring, bike packing, and daily commuting/travel.
- I want to equip a hub dynamo and dynamo light.
- It can handle an unexpected increase in luggage.
(Serious face)
It’s an expensive rack, and honestly, I don’t think I can recommend it to just anyone, but I can strongly push it to those who enjoy things like bike packing and touring, or those who ride handmade bikes.
(I’d like to find another opportunity to talk about this in more depth, but my Doppo is also a handmade bike crafted here in Aichi Prefecture by Hattori Seisakusho and our own Makoto-san.)
Anyway, it’s an incredibly cool, well-made rack. I’d love for you to see it in person at the Circles shop.
It has been restocked alongside the 3 Rail Rack.
There are a few variations, and this shipment includes two leg sizes, both with optional cage holes. (We did not stock the version without cage holes, so please be aware of that.)
