This time, we requested a seatpost. Some of you might think, "Isn't that just a plain metal tube?" However, this is a single-pillar seatpost designed for a specific clamp style, differing from the standard clamp systems used on most modern sports bikes. It’s a shape actually quite familiar in Japan, as it is commonly found on standard city bikes (mamachari).
The reason this is necessary is that city bike spring saddles, like the iconic B33 or B66 by BROOKS, inherently require a single-pillar seatpost due to their construction.
That is where the SP60 Seat Post, crafted by Nitto, comes in.
As this is a seatpost with a simple structure, it is a category where the quality of materials and processing techniques really show. We asked Nitto—experts in manufacturing items that are safe and built to last—to apply their beautiful finish to this piece, and we had them produce it in black.
While the SP60 usually comes with a clamp, we opted for this version without one, as the clamp is often already attached to the saddle itself.

We set the seatpost length to 300mm, which is slightly longer than the standard SP60 lineup. Spring-type saddles have a higher stack height than ordinary saddles, so you often don't need much post extension, but we asked for this length to make it usable for as many people as possible.
While you might usually gravitate toward silver parts for a classic look with these types of saddles, the lack of black options previously meant there was a gap to fill, allowing for some interesting builds. I don't think "classic" has to mean "silver parts," so I encourage you to try incorporating it into your setup.
