【New Colors】MKS SYLVAN WORKS Sylvan Cargo Cage

Mikashima Seisakusho (MKS) has released new colors for the Sylvan Cargo Cage from their SYLVAN WORKS label.

The Sylvan Cargo Cage from SYLVAN WORKS. The fact that it bears the name "SYLVAN," synonymous with MKS pedals produced since 1979, shows just how much passion they have put into this series.

These are beautiful products into which they have poured their full range of assets—the pressing, sheet metal, and polishing techniques cultivated through pedal manufacturing.

They are, of course, Made in Japan, in Tokorozawa, Saitama.

As is the case with Nitto products, the quality of polishing on Japanese-made items is superb, setting them apart from other overseas brands.

In addition to the standard Silver, Black, and Bronze, Burgundy and Dark Olive have been added as new colors for 2025.

As you can see, these will help tie your bike's styling together, whether by color-matching the frame or using them as an accent to match other parts.

A key product feature is the movable L-shaped plate at the bottom of the cage. This part works perfectly; when attaching hard items like a water bottle, it supports them from below, so there is no risk of shifting.

Furthermore, removing the bottom plate makes it easier to strap on larger, softer items such as tents or sleeping bags.

This kind of intuitive design is unique to Japanese brands.

It’s practically an "Everything Cage."

Please use Voile Straps (sold as Thunder Straps at SimWorks) to secure your cargo.

The expanded color options provide more room for color coordination, and above all, being made of metal, they are highly robust.

We also have a report from Circles staffer Chan-Mai, who used this Sylvan Cargo Cage on a solo bikepacking tour on Rishiri Island in Hokkaido, so please take a look.
