These days, the number 75 really hits home.
The new fiscal year has started, and before you know it, a whole month has already flown by. It’s a time when all sorts of numbers are flying around—"500,000 yen starting salary," "145 yen to the dollar," "the highest inflation rate in 10 years."
Whenever I see numbers like those, I just want to let out a sigh. Lately, it feels like I’m constantly being overwhelmed by numbers.
Amidst all that, the number "75" caught my eye.
Am I the only one who felt a strange sense of comfort when I realized it was for the MKS (Mikashima) 75th Anniversary model?
Bring trust and romance to your bike’s footwork.

The MT-LUX COMPE 75 is an updated version of the classic "MT-LUX COMPE" pedal that Mikashima Seisakusho is so proud of.
But this isn't just any update. True to the name "anniversary model," it is packed with the weight of 75 years of history and a response to the current era.

With a single-sided design compatible with toe clips and the pleasant heft of an aluminum body.
It looks classic, but the feel is contemporary.
When you step on them, there is a reassuring sense of stability. It’s like, "My feet have finally touched the ground,"—that kind of feeling.
Why introduce these pedals now?

It’s because I think we are returning to an era where the act of "choosing with care" is important.
In a world where everything new, flashy, lightweight, and convenient is celebrated, perhaps it’s not such a bad thing to go full circle and "dare" to go back to single-sided pedals, "dare" to choose something with a bit of weight, and "dare" to return to a world of toe clips. Maybe?
These pedals allow for that "regression."
And who knows, that very "regression" might just be a step forward for the times.
Available in 3 colors, but this might be your only chance to choose.

- Dark Olive: The true favorite for the touring crowd. An aesthetic that blends into nature.
- Titan / Black: A mechanical feel that’s almost like a spaceship.
- All Black: A quiet sense of intimidation. No words needed.
It’s a limited production model, so if you find them, it’s destiny.
Some shops are already running low on stock.
Because it’s such a commemorative model, we’ve made sure to keep plenty of stock here at Circles.

MKS MT-LUX COMPE 75
Color : Dark Olive, Titan / Black, All Black
Price: 5,940 yen (tax included)
If I describe these pedals by the numbers, it’s "305g," "94mm wide," and "5,940 yen."
But those are just specs.
These pedals are tools that let you step down on 75 years of "thank yous."
If I’ve conveyed that, then I’ve achieved what I set out to do with this article.
Along with the spring breeze, try the feel of new pedals.
Just a little suggestion for some "good footwork."
