I haven't used a MASH front rack myself yet, but having a front rack is definitely convenient in many ways.
The weather has been getting warmer lately, and I find it very uncomfortable to get all sweaty on my back when wearing a large backpack.
Isn't a rack like this just the thing you need at times like that?
Even when you don't have much to carry, being able to ride without anything on your back is very comfortable during the hot season. In those moments, the MASH front rack will surely come in handy.
Features of the MASH Front Rack
Contrary to its rugged appearance, this is a highly practical item.
Born from the track bike street scene in San Francisco, this MASH Front Rack has a sleek, simple design that naturally complements any bike.
It is made of hollow steel tubing, which is surprisingly tough despite being lighter than it looks. It provides great stability when loaded, making it a reliable partner for everyday use as well as for light touring.
Since the top of the rack is flat, it is easy to place bags or boxes securely, and it's easy to strap your cargo down. If necessary, you can secure it firmly with straps for extra peace of mind.
Furthermore, the mounting tabs are offset, which allows for better clearance during installation. This makes it compatible with various frame shapes and forks.
Also, while there were two eyelets on the top deck last time, there are now three, making it easier to adjust the position and eliminating installation headaches. It works perfectly with 700c track frames, as well as 26-inch and 650B bikes.
