[In Stock Info] POB Flannel Shirt ~Monologue of a Big-Headed Person~

I love shirts.

I love collared shirts.

I love collars with a high stand, a stiff interlining, and tips that touch the body of the shirt.

I also like wide cuffs with stiff interlining. It keeps their shape nicely even when you roll up your sleeves.

And if it has sleeve plackets and gauntlet buttons, that’s just perfection.

I love ironing my shirts.

I slide the iron over the collar, the right front, the left front, then inside out over the back, the cuffs, and finally the sleeves. Putting on a crisp, wrinkle-free shirt helps me stand tall.

I don’t mind the smell either—the animal scent of wool or the toasty, wheat-like aroma of cotton rising up with the steam from the iron.

Denim, twill, nylon, herringbone... I love shirts of any fabric, but I especially love flannel shirts.

The sturdy fabric, the lightly brushed texture, and the classic plaid pattern you expect when you hear "flannel shirt."

Even the little pills that gather under the arms and collar after much use are dear to me.

I love functional shirts.

I love utility shirts that I can wear both when I’m out riding my bike alone and when I’m dressed up for a date.

Patch pockets on both sides of the chest are a must. If they’ve added pen holders or pockets tailored to specific needs, that’s truly functional apparel.

I love balmacaan coats.

While I prefer wool flannel for shirts, I like cotton for coats. I love coats made of tightly woven cotton that can stand up to a light rain.

A smooth, glossy finish can hint at luxury, but a coat that has been worn in until it’s all wrinkled is just as cool.

I think the look of a worn-out coat with large, shining buttons is very charming.

The large pockets on a coat are convenient for stuffing anything into, but if there’s an interior pocket for better organization, I’ll be using it constantly.

I don’t wear shirts every single day of the year, and honestly, there are times when ironing feels like a chore. And there may come a day when I stop wanting to wear shirts because I’m self-conscious about the belly I’ve gained with age.

Even so, I love Bob Scales shirts.
