Giro New Road

The new Giro helmet “ASPECT” that I introduced the other day

is receiving a very good reputation for one reason or another.
I suspect the reasons for this include its simple and excellent design, its specs which are on par with the "AEON" and "AIR ATTACK," and its versatility, which makes it suitable for many cyclists, from city rides to long rides, due to its lightweight and comfortable fit.

Well, everyone says "it's cool," so that might be the biggest reason.

Also, the apparel line represents a new step for Giro under the New Road category. While it was released in the U.S. last year, it is finally launching in Japan this spring.

Just like the “ASPECT”, the apparel line also features a great blend of design and functionality.

Giro New Road
Wind Jacket 3-1 ¥19,000 (excl. tax)

If I start talking about every detail, it always gets long, so to cut to the chase,
it uses a durable, highly water-repellent lightweight ripstop fabric.
As you can see, there is ventilation. Moreover, this zip connects to the hem and also serves as the opening for the hand pockets. The zip is, of course, not a single-opening type, so the ventilation and pockets can be opened and closed separately.
Also, the center back panel is made of mesh, making this a high-performance windbreaker that allows for body temperature regulation.
Giro New Road
Ride Over Short ¥15,500 (excl. tax)
These are just incredibly easy to move in. They offer comfort without stress even when worn over cycling shorts, and with their clean silhouette as casual pants, they are shorts that can be used all season long.

Giro New Road
Wind Vest ¥12,500 (excl. tax) A vest featuring the same fabric and design as the windbreaker.

Although it does not have openable ventilation or pockets, the back is made of mesh, which also allows for easy body temperature regulation. Because the fabric is thin and light, it is smart to carry around.

Giro New Road
L/S Mobility Shirt ¥15,500 (excl. tax)
A long-sleeve shirt with an outstanding vibe.
The silhouette is neither too slim nor too wide—it's a trendy style. With that silhouette and a highly stretchy fabric, it is a stylish shirt that is easy to move in and won't feel stressful even during intense movement.
The buttons are hidden by the placket, so the look is neat, and they won't get caught on anything, such as bag straps.
Giro New Road
Mobility Trouser ¥15,500 (excl. tax)
Quoc Pham / Tourer ¥24,800 (excl. tax)
These are simple, universal chino pants.
Man, personally, I love stuff like this.
Of course, the fabric is stretchy, and when you roll up the hem, you can see reflective piping on the side.
If you pair them with Quoc Pham shoes, you'll be equipped with reflectors on both sides and at the back. Haha.
But at night, if you ride behind someone who is actually wearing such pants or shoes, you can clearly see them reflecting car lights. That's right, "moving things" are easier to recognize.

What do you think? It's Giro's new challenge.
As it gets warmer and we can feel the arrival of spring, why don't you get on your bike and head out to find a new road?
