【CRUST BIKES】The heavy tank known as the Nor’Easter.

Our first bike check of the new year features the Nor’ Easter, a model from CRUST BIKES that we've been getting a lot of requests for lately.

The Nor’ Easter is a hybrid of CRUST’s staple models, the Romanceür and the Evasion. While it pays homage to the good old days of Randonneur bikes with details like a classic head badge and lugged construction, it is perfectly defined by the term "neo-classic," featuring aggressive tire clearance, thru-axles, and flat-mount rear brakes.

A true "heavy tank" of a bike that can swallow tires up to 27.5×2.00″ or 26×2.8″, it is ready to be your companion for everything from epic wilderness touring to your daily commute or casual rides around town.

We put this build together to really be put to use, installing SimWorks By Honjo / Flat65 fenders while making good use of parts we already had on hand.

By the way, while the Nor’ Easter frame is typically 1-1/8″ threadless, this particular bike uses the 1-inch threaded frame that was part of a limited run in the U.S.

Actually, CRUST accidentally sent us one size too large, so we had to wait for the correct size to arrive to finally finish it. We thought about returning the wrong-sized frame, but we figured, why not keep it in stock anyway?
