【Circles Books】HiHeyHello Magazine & Get Rad Be Radical Publication 02

Here is some long-awaited news regarding new arrivals from Circles Books, where we collect and introduce books related to the world of cycling—and sometimes, books that aren't!

HiHeyHello Magazine

HiHeyHello is a print magazine celebrating outdoor culture for women, where adventure, sports, and creativity intersect. Women of this new era are embarking on outdoor adventures with a fresh mindset, new styles, and a desire to welcome more people with diversity and inclusion. We no longer need to cling to or tolerate outdated stereotypes about who belongs in the outdoors or how they belong there.

Content includes adventure stories, profiles, food, gear, art, environmental and social issues, outdoor culture, and more. It covers a variety of outdoor experiences, from surfing, rock climbing, and snowboarding to bikepacking, mountaineering, and backyard hiking.

In addition to the latest Issue 006, we have also restocked the popular Issue 004, which features Rie Sawada (known as Riebo of SimWorks USA) on the cover. We now have everything from Issue 001 through 006 in stock!

The individuals featured all enjoy lifestyles intertwined with play in their own unique ways, offering plenty of inspiration. Furthermore, this magazine is a must-see for its commitment to the process itself—it is captured exclusively by female photographers.

RAR / Radical Adventure Riders

RAR stands for Radical Adventure Riders.

Originally founded under the name WTF (Woman, Transgender, Fem), it is a community created to support women, transgender, femme, and non-binary individuals in traveling by bike, as well as to break away from male-dominated society and liberate cycling culture. We have just received the latest issue, Issue 02, of the Get Rad Be Radical Publication published by RAR, as well as their Group Ride Guide.

【RAR】 Get Rad Be Radical Publication Issue 02

The theme of this second issue is Making Space and Stepping Back.

It features 13 contributors who are creating space for BIPOC*, trans, women, intersex, and gender-nonconforming individuals. The contributors focus on community building and organizing, prioritizing self and collective care, and education and knowledge sharing within the bicycle adventure community.

*BIPOC stands for Black, Indigenous, and people of color. It is a term used to respect and acknowledge the diverse cultures of these groups rather than rendering them invisible.

【RAR】 Group Ride Guide

As the name suggests, this is a guide for group rides that shares essential information for Radical Adventure Riders members—especially FTWN-B* and BIPOC individuals—to organize, think about, and carry out group rides safely.

It is a book packed with hints for things you should be aware of when planning your first group ride, or when organizing a ride for a diverse group of friends regardless of their riding skills.

*FTWN-B stands for Femme, Transgender, Women, and Non-Binary.

RAR recognizes the limitations of words and labels. Above all, they aim to respect whatever terms people use to express themselves and hope to engage in conversations that allow us to get to know one another better.

Although this article is from 2018, please take a look at it for more on RAR and the Bikexplorers Summit they hold. (At the time it was known as WTF, but it is now RAR.)
