Midnight is a unique deep blue inspired by the jazz standard composed by Thelonious Monk in the 1940s. Neither black, blue, nor navy blue, this bold, elegant, and ever-changing finish is sure to deepen any cyclist's creativity.

Regarding the color that everyone is curious about, we compared it with Matte Slate, the discontinued color it replaced, and the classic Matte Black. When viewed alone, you might mistake it for Matte Slate at first glance, but as you can see here, it clearly has a unique tone all its own.

It’s a color that works well as an accent on lighter-colored frames, pairs beautifully with blue-toned frames to highlight the difference in hues, and also complements titanium or gray frames. Whether you want a modern look with black components or a classic style with silver parts, this color opens up endless possibilities for the rider’s creativity, and we are looking forward to proposing it in our upcoming builds.

Midnight has been added as a regular color starting this year, and while this is the first shipment, some models are not yet available; we expect further arrivals in May, August, and December, in line with Chris King's production schedule. If you are planning a build with this color, please feel free to contact us to ensure we can get the parts you need.

While the conversation tends to focus on the color, what hasn't changed is the craftsmanship packed into every Chris King product—components designed to be properly maintained and used for a long time to come.

It’s not just about being lightweight; it’s about durability and ease of maintenance. Beyond product performance, Chris King remains a rare brand that pours effort into building cycling communities, supporting its staff, and caring for society and the environment. We hope you appreciate that spirit along with the quality of the product.

And of course, rest assured that Circles will be here to provide full after-sales support.

Trail Badge Collection

Along with the first shipment of Midnight, we also received these items from Chris King.

There is an organization called the Northwest Trail Alliance (NWTA) that Chris King sponsors. Based in Portland for over 30 years, the NWTA is a volunteer group dedicated to building and maintaining MTB trails and promoting the joy and fun of mountain biking.

As the first International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) chapter in the Pacific Northwest, they work every day to foster awareness and a positive attitude toward all types of off-road cycling among trail users, land managers, agencies, and the public, aiming to make Portland, Northwest Oregon, and Western Washington a recognized heaven for mountain biking and off-road cycling.

Chris King released this soft goods collection in support of and as a tribute to their wonderful work. 10% of the proceeds will be donated to the NWTA to help fund their operations and support trail maintenance.

One of the things that makes them so wonderful is that they don't just manufacture goods; they also take the initiative to get involved in the environment where those products are used.

The Trail Badge series features designs that look like the kind of badges you might see on local trail maintenance crews. Please don't miss out, as stock is limited.
