Black Cat Bicycles "Disc Racer": The Case of the Ariba Shop Owner.

As many of you may already know, Keita from Earlybirds Breakfast has got himself a new bike. A Blackcat. Tada!!

Blackcat Bicycles Disc Racer “Lizard Green”

Having already ridden a disc cyclocross bike and an SS mountain bike, the new partner he chose is a Blackcat disc road bike. What’s more, there was no compromising on the parts selection, featuring an 11-speed Ultegra groupset and Chris King R45 Disc hubs.

Earlybirds Breakfast is still going strong, open from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM!!
The 3-Egg Plate in the photo is quite filling, but it’s highly recommended after a ride. Please come by and ask him to brag about his new bike. I’m sure he’ll be meowing on and on about it.

He seems to have been going out for rides with me on my days off lately, and doing quite a bit of riding on his own, too...
I had the chance to take it for a spin, and it has no rough edges; it truly rides without a hint of stress. The way it gains speed naturally when you pedal, and the stability on descents, is a testament to the build quality. The disc brakes are powerful, too, and while the owner is quite pleased with it, I’m planning on taking him on a slightly more hardcore gravel ride next time.

By the way, I’ve uploaded the R45 Disc Hubs, which are used on this bike, to our webshop.

Chris King “R45 Disc Hub Set”(28H,32H) Standard: ¥75,180 Ceramic: ¥89,040

This should be welcome news for those who have been having trouble deciding on hubs for their disc road or disc cyclocross builds.
We look forward to consulting with you on your custom wheel builds!

The other day, we held a session to "steal skills" from Makoto, who recently attended a Chris King seminar.
The more I work with these hubs, the more I realize how incredibly well-made they are.
We are also happy to perform maintenance for those already using them, so please feel free to reach out.
