[Bike of The Week] Sulry Preamble

The one we introduced the other day.
↑That Preamble has, happily, set off to a wonderful new owner!

So we've built a new complete bike for the shop floor, and we'd love to introduce it!

The Handlebar: the Ever-Reliable SIMWORKS Little Nick

This bar has the easy handling you'd expect from a flat bar, with a backsweep that comes smoothly back toward you.
Compared with a straight flat bar, it puts your wrists at a more natural angle, so you can ride in a relaxed position with your shoulders loose.

Whether you're cruising slowly around town or stretching the distance a bit, your upper body isn't too upright, yet not too far forward either.
That “just right” feel goes really well with the Preamble's character.

700c Tires for Speed

What's interesting about the Preamble is that, depending on frame size, it can take 700c wheels as well as 650b.
It's versatile enough to choose to suit the rider's build and how they'll use it: 650b on the smaller sizes for easy handling, 700c on the larger sizes for lighter rolling.

Built with 700c like this one, it gets going easily from a stop around town, and once you're up to speed it glides forward effortlessly.
It's perfect for everyday use like commuting to work or school and running errands, and also for riding out to a café a little farther away on your day off.

Fatter tires for a feeling of security are nice too, but finishing it light and nimble with 700c really brings out the Preamble's honest ride.

It's a Circles Original Color.

This Silver is an original color painted by Circles' paint service, "Kyutai Paint."

Kyutai Paint offers multi-color paint jobs and deep, rich finishes, of course, as well as a "powder paint" menu that lets you change to the color you like more easily, more quickly and at lower cost.

SURLY is also a brand that sells decals for its own frames.
So by combining it with Kyutai Paint, you can finish a bike in your own favorite color, not just this Silver.

Enjoying the complete bike just as it is is great, of course, but being able to make it your own right down to the color is another fun thing about SURLY.
