"Your blog is doing well."
"That person from Taiwan!?"
Lately, I’ve had a few people share their thoughts on my blog, and I’m genuinely happy about it!
Thank you so much.

I’m sorry that I always give such vague responses because I’m surprised and a bit embarrassed.
I spend about 10 minutes afterward slowly soaking in the joy.♪
That’s the kind of person I am.
Hello, I’m Kosei.🖐️
A "just right" shop build: [BASSI Hog’s Back]
I’ve built up a total of four bicycles from the brand BASSI, and I’m planning to introduce them one by one every week. But honestly, I think this first one is the absolute best (it's just perfect).
It was so "just right" that it sold in the shop before I could even post it on the blog.🙇♂️
But please, let me introduce it anyway!

It's beautiful no matter how many times I look at it...

I kept the gearing modest with an 8-speed setup, which is necessary and sufficient for city riding.

For the tires, I didn’t want to do anything flashy.
The reliable SCHWALBE Billy Bonkers 26×2.10!
These are a favorite of mine because they’re light and feel great when accelerating on concrete.
Since they’re also used for dirt jumping, they can handle high pressure. When you pump them up well, they ride really fast, which suits the light, agile feel of the Hog’s Back promenade build perfectly.

For brakes...
my personal partner, the AVID Disc Brake BB5 Road!!
The price and performance don't match up.
The feel is great, and they’re easy to maintain too, so they get a ◎.
I highly recommend them.

For brake levers, I added a bit of flair with the DIA-COMPE DC189.
This shape was used on utility bikes like newspaper delivery bikes in 1950s France.
I love how they pursue a functional beauty that feels very French.

There’s no better way to describe this combination than "popping up."
For the shift lever, I used the MICRO SHIFT Thumb Shifter – SHIMANO Road 1×8 Speed.
The mix of new and old components around the handlebars looks awesome.

I also equipped it with a kickstand from the start.
You need one, right?
BASSI even provided a mounting plate for it.
I love them even more for that.🐖

Playing with wire colors.

Purple dominates.

When you take a close look like this and then view the whole thing again, doesn't it look like a different picture?
It’s just like that phenomenon where, once you start watching a lot of movies, you start paying close attention to the background sets or notice a director’s quirks, and you end up liking the work even more.
If something catches your eye, take a closer look.
There should be things that start to appear.
It's nice that you caught it, and it's also nice that the work makes you notice it even without any prior knowledge.
If anyone wants this same complete bike I’ve introduced, please feel free to contact us!!
It really is interesting
Man,
I ride the same frame myself, but it really makes me think again how different the personality becomes depending on how it's built.

Interesting.
The Hog’s Back has many faces; it truly is a great bicycle.
I’m excited to be able to introduce a different BASSI every week from now on.
BASSI’s parent company, C&L, has some things in common with Circles that I really like, but let’s talk about that next time.
Look forward to it.
