Adventure By Bike.

How is everyone’s adventuring going?
Whether it’s a weekend ride or just your daily commute, trying a route that’s a little different from the usual, or aiming for a place you’ve never been, can lead to all sorts of fun discoveries.

Bikes from Salsa Cycles are experts at such adventures. We have selected the most adventure-ready models among them, and now that the 2015 lineup has arrived, we’d like to introduce them to you.

Salsa Cycles “Fargo3” size:S 203,000 JPY (excl. tax)

The Fargo is perfect for camping tours that string together stretches of flat dirt roads.
To be honest, it’s hard to find the kind of fun, endless dirt roads here in Japan, but thanks to the go-anywhere capability of the 29-inch wheels, I think this bike lets you enjoy not just dirt, but trail riding as well.

The fork comes with bottle cage mounts, allowing for smart packing using Salsa’s “Anything Cage.” If you pair that with frame bags or a high-capacity saddlebag, you can ride off-road with a heavy load with complete peace of mind.

The image I have for this bike is one that lets you aim for a destination via a route that includes both on and off-road sections, and if there happens to be a little trail at your destination, you’ll be able to enjoy it to the fullest. I should also add that this is a bike that you can enjoy as much as your sense of adventure allows!

Salsa Cycles “Vaya3” size:54cm(700c) 187,000 JPY (excl. tax)

On the other hand, the Vaya has more of an on-road touring bike image.
The one we have in stock now is a 54cm. The reason being, while the 50cm and 52cm Vaya models come with 26-inch wheels, the 54cm and up move to a 700c wheel lineup. In other words, you can fit Bruce Gordon Rock 'n Road tires on it! It has enough clearance to comfortably accommodate the 43c width.

So, we are offering this specific bike as a special package that includes the cost of those Rock 'n Road tires.
Even though it leans towards on-road use, it handles unpaved roads just fine, and its stable handling remains even when you load it up with front and rear racks for heavy touring, making it a truly fun bike for daily rides.

This season’s models for both the Fargo and Vaya are only available as complete builds, but depending on the size of previous models, we can also offer custom builds starting from a frameset, so please feel free to ask us.

We can also offer something like this through a repaint.

You can obviously enjoy this bike to 120% by riding it the way we did on last year's RIDEALIVE, but if you are looking for a bike that can be your companion forever and everywhere, please consider this one.
