Things you use every day, things you want to use. – Bedrock Sandals Mountain Clog

Footwear that you slip into every morning without a second thought, not because you’re mindless, but because it’s the one you instinctively reach for.
Or perhaps it’s that one pair you settle on after much deliberation, deciding it’s the right choice after all.

There must be a good reason why you find yourself wearing the same pair every single day.

It could be that they are easy to slip on, comfortable to walk in, make pedaling a bike easier, hold up well over time, or simply look great. A pair like that—one you reach for and want to keep wearing—has the power to boost your daily happiness just a little bit.

Well, I have found such a pair.

That would be the new Mountain Clog from BEDROCK SANDALS, which I introduced recently.

To be honest, I’ve been fortunate enough to have been wearing a sample since last autumn, and I’m wearing them at this very moment while writing this blog post.

I am a huge fan of the Cairn Adventure Sandal, the flagship model of BEDROCK SANDALS, and have loved wearing them for everything from commuting and cycling tours to hiking and neighborhood strolls. It was early last autumn when I first laid eyes on the Mountain Clog. With its closed-toe design, it looked more like a shoe than a sandal, and I was thrilled at the prospect of being able to wear BEDROCK SANDALS through the cold autumn and winter months. At the same time, however, a small doubt crossed my mind: “Does it have the same secure fit as the Cairn Adventure Sandal?”

A strap system with a secure fit

The structure, featuring two instep straps and a heel strap, is similar to the Cairn Adventure Sandal. The reason for my initial concern was the lack of a toe-post strap, but that worry was dispelled as soon as I started wearing them. I was convinced of their secure fit during daily life, as well as on low-mountain hikes and rides with flat pedals. However, because there is no toe post, I don't think they are suitable for more rigorous activities like running or climbing steep, mountainous terrain.

A fatigue-reducing, stable footbed

The Mountain Clog features a proprietary footbed with a gentle, contoured structure. It sits somewhere between the Cairn 3D Adventure Sandal and the Cairn Adventure Sandal. While individual experiences may vary, I love how these subtle contours provide gentle support, keeping my feet comfortable all day long. Of course, it doesn't offer the same level of support as the Cairn 3D Adventure Sandal, but the "just right" feeling of this slightly softer, cushioned footbed makes it the least fatiguing model in the BEDROCK SANDALS lineup after a full day of wear.

A roomy fit

The wide, rounded toe box is a size larger than the Cairn series, making it a perfect fit when wearing medium-thickness socks. There is no pressure on the toes or sides of the feet, leaving plenty of room for your toes to move naturally. I was a bit concerned about how they would feel without socks, so I tried them barefoot, and found that once you adjust the straps for a snug fit, there are no issues at all.

A soft, rounded look

The wide, rounded aesthetic is something I think even those with no interest in outdoor activities or cycling will find attractive. While I am naturally drawn to their functional aspects like comfort, this look is so appealing that I find myself thinking I might not need any other shoes if I just owned them in a few different colors. I’m currently wearing the brown model made with real leather, and I’m convinced that if I add the grey synthetic leather version to my collection, these two pairs would handle my entire daily routine.

They pair beautifully with casual wear, making them a perfect "stylish pair" for everyday use, not just for outdoor scenes.

A sandal for all seasons

The fact that the lack of a toe post allows you to wear any kind of socks is also a huge plus.
While I’ll certainly be wearing my Cairn Adventure Sandal more often during the heat of summer, I can confidently recommend the Mountain Clog as a pair that will serve you year-round, as it remains comfortable on hot days with thin socks or even when worn barefoot.

BEDROCK SANDALS has garnered significant attention from outdoor geeks for their "zero-drop" and "barefoot" concepts, excellent strap systems, and models tailored to specific uses. It seems many people have been keeping an eye on their developments, and I’ve increasingly heard voices expressing excitement for the launch of the Mountain Clog.
