Welcome the New Year with a "Run for Good Fortune" New Year Bicycle Shimekazari 2024

Man, the year-end rush is keeping me busy... While I’m longing for the relaxed and chill New Year’s holidays to arrive, I want to make sure I get the preparations done now so I can welcome the new year with a clear mind.

We’ve made our "Sohuku" (Good Fortune in Riding) shime-kazari decorations again this year

New Year's bicycle shime-kazari. Just like the kadomatsu decorations, they serve as a place to invite the Toshigami (New Year deity) as they descend from the mountains, and are a prayer for good health and safe travels throughout the year.

We asked Tumbleweed once again to create original "Sohuku" shime-kazari decorations for bicycles, and we’d like to offer them for sale.

The rice straw used is, of course, harvested from the paddies of Makoto-san, one of our mechanics at Circles. We are grateful for his help again this year.

They look great under your saddle, on your front basket, or even on your car or motorcycle.

It’s a shame that traditional culture is fading more and more each year, but precisely because we handle products from all over the world, I believe we should also be conscious of Japan's uniqueness. Also, lucky charms like these only serve their purpose when you make them a yearly tradition. Let’s prepare well again this year and get off to a great start for the year ahead.
