Hello everyone! This is Daisaku.
This time, I’m inviting you all on a ride!
As some of you may know, I used to work at Culture Club, which closed last month, where I hosted a regular event called the "Sunday Morning Ride."
It’s not about riding long distances or going fast; it’s about a ride with just the right vibe and timing—usually wrapping up between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM—to go grab coffee at a park or attend a workshop.

You might feel a little sleepy first thing on a Sunday morning, or maybe it's too cold to get out from under the covers, but you decide to get up and ride with everyone anyway.
After just 30 minutes of pedaling, your eyes clear up, your body warms up, and you feel energized.
You spend a quick three hours together, and after parting ways, you glance at your watch to see it's only 12:00 PM. Now, what should I do with the rest of the day?
It’s a ride where you not only have a great time during the cycling, but you also have more excitement waiting for you afterward.
The first Sunday Morning Ride is a Shimenawa Workshop!!
Apologies for the long introduction, but the morning rides will continue now that I’m back at Circles!
As the title suggests, the first one will be a "Shimenawa Workshop Ride."

Actually, we held this Shimenawa ride at Culture Club about two years ago as well.

It’s a workshop where we make our own Shimenawa (sacred straw ropes) using rice straw grown at the home of Minami-san, our exclusive designer at Circles. We’ll be guided by Kotaro-san from "TUMBLEWEED," who was responsible for the Circles 19th-anniversary poster graphic we all remember, as well as the graphic art on the walls at Circles Tokyo!

When I participated two years ago, it was incredibly fun to feel the stiff straw become soft as I worked on it, and to see a familiar-looking Shimenawa take shape just by following the instructions.

Let’s enjoy the ride and the workshop while catching up with everyone about memories from this year and plans for the next!
