【SHIMANO RX6】We are hosting a fitting event for Shimano clipless shoes!!!

With the recent announcement of the new CUES component series and the release of the GRX Limited still fresh in our minds, SHIMANO—the Japanese brand that the world takes pride in—is a name that anyone with even the slightest interest in bicycles has surely heard.

From world-class competitive racing to bikes used for everyday transportation, their market share is such that it is safe to say there isn't a day that goes by where you don't see a bicycle equipped with SHIMANO products. This holds true in the fishing industry as well, where they boast the second-largest market share in the world. Furthermore, last year, they pooled their cultivated technical expertise to launch Icebox, a cooler that excels not only for fishing but also in scenes like camping and BBQs, aiming to expand their world view by crossing over between cycling, fishing, and various other outdoor activities.

While we carry various SHIMANO products here at Circles, we have only dealt with a small selection of their cycling shoes until now. However, thanks to the cooperation of SHIMANO, we are now able to hold a try-on event.

The model we have prepared for this try-on event is the RX6, a new addition to their gravel and adventure lineup.

The SHIMANO RX6 is a gravel shoe that achieves an optimal balance between stiffness and walking performance. While it inherits the technology of the higher-end RX8 model, it was developed not for winning races, but for enjoying gravel rides and Gran Fondo-style riding.

It comes with various features, so let's quickly list them out.

  • Carbon-reinforced sole provides race-level stiffness that can withstand long hours of pedaling.
  • Wide outsole pattern with TPU lugs optimizes comfort and performance both on and off the bike.
  • Lightweight outsole inspired by gravel racing.
  • Surround wrapping upper structure provides a secure hold and a comfortable fit.
  • BOA® L6K dial allows for quick and precise micro-adjustments.
  • Designed as a single system with SPD pedals to pursue pedaling efficiency and stability.

I tried them on myself, and the way they wrap around your feet is unlike any other shoe I have worn.

Surround Wrapping Upper

That exceptional fit is due to the structure known as the Surround Wrapping Upper. This seamlessly integrated upper eliminates material overlap and minimizes the gap between the shoe and the foot. It feels almost like wearing a sock. This is also thanks to the one-piece upper and the closure system that utilizes the highly adjustable BOA® L6K dial.

Another factor playing a part in this is SHIMANO DYNALAST.

SHIMANO DYNALAST

SHIMANO DYNALAST uses a shoe last that faithfully reproduces the complex three-dimensional shape of the human foot. It is designed to fit perfectly by tracing smooth curves and wrapping snugly around the heel.

I was able to feel the comfort just by putting my feet in and tightening the velcro and BOA dial, without even attaching them to pedals.

There are various other features mentioned above, but I hope you will come and experience them for yourself by actually wearing them.

I plan on having a relaxing holiday, but since Asai and Daisaku are heading out for a gravel ride, I’ve had them take a pair along to test out. You'll be able to hear their impressions directly at the shop, so please come visit us!
