11th Anniversary Ride: Crossing Yanase and Ninose at the year's end.

Once you've conquered Ishigure Pass, you'll hop off your bikes and hike to the summit of Mt. Ryugadake.

For this 11th-anniversary ride, we've planned several routes. The one that Yanase, Uno, and Shim-worker Gishi will be leading is a combination of cycling and hiking.

The route originated back when Shige and Kyohei-kun from ADAPT SUZUKA were working on the plans for RIDEALIVE 2017 in Mie, held this spring. While looking at a map of the Mt. Ryugadake area, it occurred to me that if we went by way of Ishigure Pass, we’d be pretty close to the summit. The day we spent challenging that route before the actual event was incredibly rewarding.

I've been quietly keeping this experience to myself, wanting to share it with everyone, so I decided to propose it for this occasion.

Date: Sunday, December 3rd
Meeting Point: Nagoya Station West Exit Fountain (opposite Bic Camera)
Meeting Time: 7:00 AM
Capacity: 10 people
Fee: Free (Meals and transportation costs are at your own expense)
Lunch: Bring your own (If the weather is nice, we’ll eat at the summit! You can bring food you can prepare yourself, or whatever you like! We will be taking a lunch break during the hike, so choose your own style!)
Dinner: Ageki Shokudo
Required Items: Bicycle, warm clothing, bicycle travel bag (rinko bag), and helmet.
*The hike is expected to take about 1 to 1.5 hours each way. Since the temperature will be lower than on the plains, please bring extra thermal layers to supplement your riding gear.
How to Apply: Please apply in-store, via the contact form, or by phone (052-331-3232).

I imagine that with the change in seasons, the air you breathe, the scenery you see, and the gear you need will be completely different. Depending on the weather, it might get a bit tough, but I hope we can enjoy that aspect of it too.

The general route starts at Nagoya Station, takes us through the old Minoji and Tsushima Kaido roads, across the Tokai Bridge, and toward Ninose Pass.

After that, we’ll pass by Ageki Station, head onto National Route 412, and attack Ishigure Pass. We will start hiking from the trailhead located at the highest point of the old pass road. We’ll stop for lunch on the way as we aim for the summit.

After descending, we’ll warm up at Ageki Onsen and enjoy a delicious meal at Ageki Shokudo.

After dinner, we plan to head home by putting our bikes on the Sangi Railway from Ageki Station. Of course, you are welcome to ride back on your own!

If you are interested but the meeting time or location doesn't work for you, we are open to you joining us along the way, so please let us know.

If you would like to join the fun, please feel free to sign up.

Further details will be provided directly to those who sign up.

A full day of riding and hiking on a Sunday—just the thought of it is exciting. In any case, I'm looking forward to enjoying it to the fullest!
