Although spring has officially arrived according to the calendar and the cold days are still continuing, when you ride a bicycle, you can feel in your skin that the season is definitely heading toward spring.
For those who have just started cycling, those who are thinking of starting, or those who have just moved to Nagoya, I'm sure you have various questions such as, "Is there a good route to ride?" or "What kind of outfit should I wear to ride?" Whether it's riding fast, challenging yourself on climbs, riding on unpaved roads, or searching for delicious food and spectacular views, I think everyone has their own style of riding. Today, Circles would like to invite you all to our monthly rides so that you can use your bicycle to make your life more fun and enriched.
For our monthly rides, we have planned two different concepts to keep things interesting: the Sunday Morning Ride on the second Sunday of every month, which is open to anyone to join freely, and the more challenging CRC Ride on the third Sunday!
The second Sunday of every month is the Sunday Morning Ride, presented by Jazz & Taka. This is for those of you who have just started riding and feel a bit uneasy about various things. It is an easy, low-pressure ride for those who aren't interested in training or racing but want to ride together with everyone. Let’s enjoy these casual rides together—whether it's riding to a coffee shop we're curious about, or having a picnic ride where everyone brings food. Anything from a mom-chari (city bike) to whatever you have is perfectly fine!
The third Sunday of every month is the CRC Ride, presented by Shige & Nabetaku. Meet at Early Birds at 8:00 AM and let's head out for a ride! This ride is recommended for those who want to ride a bit more actively compared to the Sunday Morning Ride. While the destination and content change every month, we will propose various ways to enjoy riding through the seasons, sometimes on gravel, sometimes for long distances!
We hope that riding with you will not only be a place for new encounters and discoveries through bicycles but also an opportunity to significantly expand your circle of friends. Of course, you are welcome to join even if you didn't buy your bike at Circles! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask our staff in-store.
For this first month, we have slightly changed the schedule: the Sunday Morning Ride will be held on 2/26 (Sun), and the CRC Ride will be held as scheduled on 2/19 (Sun)! We will provide more details each month as the dates approach, so we look forward to seeing you all there!
And there is a reason why we aren't holding a Sunday Morning Ride this week!
The "bike girls" who regularly hold the women's bicycle workshop "FIX LIKE COOK" at Matsubara's sister shops, Culture Club and Pine Fields Market—and who skillfully incorporate bicycles into their daily lives to enjoy riding and having fun—have planned a really exciting ride.
This ride involves splitting into groups and visiting checkpoints based on the theme of enjoying Sunday in Nagoya. You can consult with your team members, make side trips, and exchange information about recommended shops and favorite spots, all while enjoying a group ride at your own pace!
