When it comes to camping, it's gotta be curry!

Hi everyone, this is Keita from Early Birds.

For us, having a delicious meal at the end of a ride is always the top priority. Even when the climbs are tough and we're struggling, we keep moving forward, looking forward to the reward that awaits us.

Local dishes, hidden gems, street-side diners, udon shops, cafes in the mountains... the more rural the area, the more interesting shops you find while cycling. There’s no better feeling than working up the courage to step into a new place and finding out it's absolutely amazing. I also love checking out the hidden spots I hear about from the cyclists who visit Circles and Early Birds. Lately, I've been thinking constantly about how I can create something interesting that blends food and cycling.

In planning this event, "RIDEALIVE," I really wanted to provide you all with a solid "food experience." For this event, I've asked some wonderful people with ties to the Mikawa region to support us with the essential element of food.

First, I'd like to introduce "SUNDAY SPICE," who will be in charge of dinner on the first night.

They are a curry shop located in Gamagori, Aichi Prefecture. The shop was created by renovating a single-story building within the Garage Coffee Company premises.
Initially, they started out as a mobile food vendor, participating in various events primarily in the Tokai region. Their yellow vehicle became their trademark, winning over many curry fans. After five years of mobile operations, they opened their brick-and-mortar shop in March 2014.

The shop, which he renovated himself with the help of friends, is incredibly cozy and reflects his great sense of style. He also hosts regular events under the name "Spice Hanten," where you can enjoy dishes from various countries (mainly Asian), making it an truly captivating place.

Above all, he is such a wonderful person, and since we've always collaborated on things, he was one of the first people who came to mind when I was planning this event. Whenever we work together, we somehow hit it off immediately, even without any prior planning—it’s a strange and special connection.

For the event, they will be preparing a special catering menu. This will include the exquisite curry they serve at the shop, as well as Vietnamese pho, which will make an appearance for this event.

To ensure all participants get a meal, we will be providing food tickets. When it's time to eat, just head to the food area with your ticket in hand to exchange it. Additionally, we'll have delicious deli sides set out on the tables as free food.

I remember when I heard he was opening his shop in Gamagori:

"Why Gamagori?"

"Gamagori is amazing. It has the sea, it has the mountains, and I grew up here in Mikawa. I decided on this location because I want more people to know how great this city is."

Hearing that made me feel the charm—or rather, the potential—of the Mikawa region all over again. After all, if he says it’s a great place, then it must be. Haha.

I believe his carefully crafted curry is packed with his heart and soul. That bowl of curry eaten after a tiring ride is sure to satisfy both body and soul. Look forward to it.

The shop in Gamagori is also wonderful, so I hope you'll make a point to visit before or after the event. I think a ride to go eat delicious curry is a fantastic idea.
