【Ride Report】Quick Ride

Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening! I’m Mai-chan.

Ride titles are always decided after the fact, so this one is called “Sakura,” even though the ride was scheduled for when the cherry blossoms were just starting to fall. But that’s okay!

Cherry blossoms falling softly, cookies that are nice and crisp, and a relaxed, fun hanami ride—enjoy the report♪

First, we headed to PINE FIELDS MARKET to pick up some bread and snacks.
They had all kinds of delicious-looking bread, doughnuts, and cookies on display,
so it was hard not to get distracted by everything.
They have over 15 varieties of koppe-pan rolls, which they make fresh to order^^

With our bags packed with delicious treats, we set off for Heiwa Park!
This time, we chose a route from Fukiage through to Kakuozan.
The road is mostly flat until Motoyama, but the stretch from Motoyama to Heiwa Park has a brutal hill you just can’t avoid...!
The climb is tough, but the neighborhood is lovely, with plenty of old buildings still standing.
Even as we struggled up the steep hill, the sight of cherry blossoms made our legs pedal faster. We’d worried they might have all fallen, but we just made it in time!

Actually, the goal of this ride was to boil water and enjoy freshly brewed coffee. Everyone brought out their own way of boiling water, and we got started!

Boiling water is about as simple and straightforward as it gets, but just being able to do that opens up so many more possibilities for what you can eat.

The dripper didn’t fit the pot, so we used chopsticks as a quick fix. That kind of thing is part of the fun of playing outdoors.

We brewed coffee and enjoyed teatime with bread and snacks in both hands♪
The tuna and olive roll I picked had wonderfully juicy olives, and the cookies were deliciously and gently sweet! I kept reaching for more and finished them in no time. My favorite was the classic cookie, baked nice and crisp♪

When the wind blows, cherry blossoms flutter through the air, and the photographers quickly raise their cameras.
That’s one of the pleasures of enjoying hanami just as the blossoms begin to fall. So picturesque!

Join Us on Our Next Ride

Our next ride is planned for Wednesday, May 15.
Since the 15th is “strawberry day” in Japanese, we’re planning a strawberry ride! We’ll go strawberry picking together!
Three of Circles’ new staff members will be leading the ride♪
We’ll share more details once everything is finalized, so keep the day free until then. We hope you’ll come ride with us〜^^

#1 Mai-chan’s Break Room

This time, I picked out lots of photos to give you a feel for the ride. (Or maybe I just couldn’t choose which ones to use.)
Did they capture how much fun we had?

Since I come from an outdoor shop, I’d love to share more of the ways you can expand your adventures with a bike and a little something extra—and enjoy them together.

Where can you have a fire?
What gear should you bring?
What’s important when choosing equipment?

I plan to share more in-depth stories like these, too...
I hope all of your worlds of adventure continue to grow!
