OUT THERE NIPPON 2016

Back in April.

I dragged along three friends I've known since starting university for a two-day camping trip to Kumano.
Bad influences? Old ties? They’re the same crowd I usually kick a ball around with, have BBQs, or go snowboarding with.

I’m reporting again this year as a Ranger for OUT THERE NIPPON 2016, sponsored by Blackburn.

I wrote this hoping to show "college students" who bought a bike for commuting that there are so many ways to have fun with it.

Following last year, the stage was once again Mie Prefecture.
We headed to Kumano, even further south than Ise-Shima, where the summit was held.

The route involved taking our bikes on the train along the coast, heading into the mountains, camping overnight, and then riding back down along the river to the sea.
Going through tunnels along the way is a given, and we also hit some gravel, with a finale at the rice terraces.

I’ve written a full report on the recently launched OUT THERE NIPPON special site, so please take a look there!!

If you want to hear more, please come by the store.
Mie and Wakayama Prefectures are deep. I felt like there must be countless other roads there that are just as pleasant to ride.

I'm thinking of sneaking away again around autumn.
Would anyone like to join me? Oh, but before that, don't forget we also have RIDEALIVE!
