New Bedrock Sandals / Cairn Pro Adventure Sandals

Whether you're riding a gravel bike or a dirt touring bike, the desire to pedal off the beaten path, escape the daily grind, step into uncharted territory, and see what lies beyond is something I think we all share, regardless of whether we're riding or hiking.

And it’s even better when the tools you bring along can be used just as well in your daily life as they are in the field.

With a minimalist design and high performance, Bedrock Sandals from Richmond, California, are footwear that fits our lifestyles perfectly—from everyday errands to running, trekking, and even camping tours.

The Cairn, released last year by Bedrock, has been well-received as a tool that enriches a variety of outdoor activities, particularly cycling. Now, an updated model called the Cairn Pro has joined the lineup.

Like the original Cairn, these feature three straps centered on an O-ring over the instep, plus a heel strap that securely holds your foot in place, even when wet or worn with socks. You can also use these straps to make fine adjustments to your foot's position on the sole. By adjusting the angle of the toe post and the position of the O-ring on your instep, you can minimize the stress of tightness while still maintaining a secure hold.

The major update is the 14mm sole (8mm midsole / 6mm outsole), which now features the MEGAGRIP PRO Regolith Vibram® Sole, a custom-ordered outsole from Vibram. While it keeps the deep-grooved, unique pattern of the previous model, the different material provides superior grip during water activities, on muddy rocky terrain, and in the rain.

The slightly firmer sole compared to the original Cairn improves durability and reduces the impact of sharp rocks underfoot. During rides, this firmness helps you transfer power efficiently to the pedals, allowing you to blur the lines between riding, hiking, fishing, and all your other favorite activities.

With their easy-to-use strap structure and a sole thickness designed to balance grip and durability while remaining minimal, these sandals are easy to stash in your saddlebag or backpack for your next adventure. For the upcoming season when it's a bit too chilly to wear them barefoot, try pairing them with Tabby Socks for your autumn rides and trails.

You can also check them out in person and purchase a pair at HANG OUT, an outdoor experiential exhibition being held tomorrow and the day after in Shinshiro, Aichi Prefecture. If you're coming to the event, please stop by the Circles booth—we'll have all colors and sizes in stock waiting for you.
