Circles and SimWorks approach bicycles with an extraordinary passion and dedication, and Pine Fields Market puts that same deep love into the bread, pastries, and drinks they craft.
While their menu is filled with basic, "brown" items—like koppepan sandwiches, pain de campagne, cookies, and raisin butter sandwiches—that may lack the flashy, Instagram-friendly flair of trendier shops, they provide a simple, powerful deliciousness every day, much like a long-selling classic treat.
When it comes to such simple yet delicious food, ingredients are everything. Their quest for quality continues to evolve; they’ve started culturing their own yeast, and it seems they’re even riding their bikes out to farms to cultivate their own wheat. Just how far will they go...?
Of course, they are connected with many dedicated farmers as well. For their menu featuring seasonal strawberries this winter and spring, they are using berries from Mitake-goya—who fly the banner of "Organic Punk"—and they are incredibly delicious.
O-organic punk...!? PFM mentions it quite casually in their introduction, but aside from the fact that they are truly delicious, I don’t quite know what that means. In pursuit of this mystery, we’re heading deep into the wilds of Nagoya by bicycle...

So, my introduction has been a bit long, but since PFM, Mitake-goya, and toricafe (who operate the field the PFM members rent) are hosting an interesting event (with illustrations by our very own Washio-sensei!), I’ve decided to organize a personal "Get-Hungry Ride" by bike. It’s a short distance, but if you’d like to join me, please send a DM to Monja. Spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
I personally eat PFM’s menu almost every day. Rather than just enjoying how delicious it is, I want to know who is involved, what their thoughts are, and how they do their work. Just like the handmade products handled by Circles, understanding the background will surely allow us to enjoy them with even more affection.
