Our Summer Sale was a great success, and RIDEALIVE 2014 is finally just around the corner next weekend. Have all you participants finished your preparations?
Last Thursday, I visited Mikawa Kogen Camping Village, our destination for the first day, to have a meeting with Sunday Spice and Kissa hiraya.
Despite their busy schedules, they made the trip to the site for this event, and I feel we were able to share a clear vision for the day. Things are really heating up!
By coincidence, a pair of close brothers who are planning to participate in RIDEALIVE were also at the campsite that day for a scouting ride. They were well-prepared, equipped with racks, panniers, and everything else they’ll need for the trip.
For the route from Nagoya to the campsite, you are welcome to refer to the route we previously shared, and if you have the time, test runs and scouting rides are definitely encouraged.
Meanwhile, all sorts of bikes have been rolling into our shop to gear up for the adventure.
Even among those riding Cross-Checks, some are choosing front racks while others go for rear racks. Everyone is carefully selecting the gear that fits their specific needs—not just to ensure comfort during this adventure, but with an eye toward how they'll use the bike afterward as well!
It seems those participating from the Kanto region also held a joint planning session during the Obon holiday. It’s exciting just hearing about them showing each other their planned routes and hatching various schemes!
Be sure to check #ridealive2014 on Instagram to see how everyone’s prep is going. Participants, please tag your photos and upload them!
Well, the adventure begins next weekend.
Or perhaps, the adventure has already begun.
"Go camping by bike." There's no doubt it will be fun. I’m incredibly excited about it myself. While it may sound simple, it involves its own set of challenges—carrying your gear, riding on unfamiliar roads, and of course, since the campsite is in the Mikawa Highlands, facing that final climb. I believe that the essence of cycling lies beyond those trials, and I trust that everyone who joins this event will be able to engage with cycling on a deeper level in their daily lives, leading to a richer lifestyle.
Why not challenge yourself a little more than usual? Try putting together your own route or practicing how to handle basic mechanical trouble on the road so you can take care of it yourself. There’s still plenty you can do even now.
Let’s all have the best summer ever. I’m sure it will change something for you.
