【EVENT】"Engiya Night" will be held on Monday, August 13th.

It’s hot every single day. I know it doesn't help to complain about the heat, but this year is just too much. I want to go back to the coolness of the shade where I rested in the great outdoors of Oregon....
But since complaining won't change anything, here is an announcement for a fun event!

Last year’s "Engiya Night," which was held for three consecutive summer nights, was a huge success.

Engiya is a creative izakaya (Japanese-style pub) located in Kani City, Gifu Prefecture. It’s a wonderful restaurant that has been running for 18 years, always serving fresh fish despite being in a landlocked city, and offering a wide array of exquisite creative dishes that go perfectly with alcohol. It all started when I met the owner, Mr. Hayashi, a cycling enthusiast who used to visit Circles as a customer. Our friendship deepened through various events, and now we even call each other "brother."

We will be holding it again this year on Monday, August 13th, right in the middle of the Obon holiday season.

I’m also looking forward to seeing many of you who are coming back home for the summer.

Engiya Night

Date & Time: Monday, August 13th, 18:00–23:00

On that day, we will have a wide selection of sashimi featuring fish shipped directly from the Sea of Japan, creative home-style side dishes unique to an izakaya, and various rare sakes, mainly from breweries in Gifu Prefecture. While the event is scheduled until 23:00, quantities are limited and items may sell out. We highly recommend arriving early.

For those of you who don't often get the chance to visit Kani City, they are putting their heart into bringing plenty of dishes and sake to help you beat the summer heat. And of course, there will be delicious, ice-cold beer as well.

Even a summer this hot feels a bit lonely once it’s over. Let’s all hold a feast to celebrate this intense, scorching summer—the last one of the Heisei era.

We look forward to seeing many of you there!
