On Sunday, I headed to Crifford, held at GONZO PARK in Kuwana.
This is a park where I've been hanging out a lot lately, led by Tomoyan.
Crifford, held there, is a race that feels like a dirt version of a criterium, blending cross-country and downhill. There were CX and MTB categories, and I spotted quite a few familiar faces from the CX season.
Push, pull, push, pull—we went round and round the course.
The spectators also moved around, cheering us on.
Handling the pumps actually uses your upper body quite a bit; two days after the race, today, I couldn't even lift my arms... (maybe it's my age...) Still, thanks to practicing pumping lately, I don't think I was fast, but I also don't think I was slow.
Whether on road or on dirt, there are really so many ways to enjoy a bicycle. The important thing is how much fun you have.
"Crifford" is very easy to participate in, with great access from Nagoya and the possibility of same-day entry if there are spots available. This was my first time participating, and I had a blast! Thank you!
I'm starting to get moving for the CX season again this year too.... (I wonder if I've put on a little weight)
