【Circles Tokyo】 Akigase Gravel Ride with ARAKAWA OUTBACK, Saturday, May 31st

As I mentioned on the blog recently, after going on the Fuji/Izu Gravel Ride, I couldn't suppress my urge to keep riding... So, I've decided to organize a ride event right away.

Akigase Gravel Ride with ARAKAWA OUTBACK

With the help of Kako-san, who runs #ArakawaOutback, we are hosting a ride where you can fully enjoy Arakawa gravel.

The ride starts and ends at Akigase Park, covering a total of about 50 km.
There are no restrictions on the type of bike, but since the route includes unpaved roads, I recommend using tires that are a bit wider and roll well.

Below is a comment from Kako-san:

This ride starts and ends at Akigase Park and is about 50 km long.
There are no long climbs, but it’s not all paved roads either.

It’s the time of year when the grass is growing thick toward summer.
I’ve already done a test run, but it’s expected to be even greener by the day of the event.

We are waiting for you at the vibrant Arakawa, where the feeling of summer is getting stronger.

The bugs are also quite active, so please keep that in mind when you join.

#ArakawaOutback

I previously participated in BIKE to Ashiori-Amagoi and rode the route that Kako-san led. It featured endless, top-tier gravel; in a word, it was an amazing route, but it also left me with a strange, surreal feeling.

The start and finish points were the same, and after riding about 60 km, including gravel, we returned to the same spot. Yet, throughout that time, there was no repeating the same route or scenery. It was an experience unlike any other, where I kept wondering, "Where am I riding right now?"

I don't know how anyone could connect paths like that...
I hope to enjoy that kind of mysterious experience with all of you on the day.
