【CAFE DU CYCLISTE 2018 SS】Cycling apparel you can enjoy for a long time

Designer Rémi Clermont is an avid cyclist who loves heading into mountainous regions for his rides. The extensive lineup of Cafe Du Cycliste is born from the fusion of his personal experience and his keen sensitivity to the shifts in the era we call "trends."

While Aya-chan's personal recommendation the other day featured women's items, we have, of course, received men's items as well.

I have been gradually adding to my own collection of Cafe du Cycliste items since we first started carrying the brand in the summer of 2012, and every single one is something that can be used for a long time.

[Cafe du Cycliste] M’s Lucienne Jersey ¥20,000 (tax excluded)

The Lucienne Jersey I bought four years ago is still one of the jerseys I use regularly. The lightweight merino wool blend body is extremely comfortable, to the point where you can wear it directly against your skin without a base layer. In terms of blend ratio, polyester is the main material, but the high moisture-wicking and antibacterial properties of merino wool provide an odor-prevention effect that makes even sweat-drenched midsummer rides more comfortable. To efficiently circulate heat, scaly mesh fabric is placed on the sides and back. It has been released again this season with new colors.

[Cafe du Cycliste] M’s Micheline Jersey ¥18,800 (tax excluded)

The Micheline Jersey I bought last year was developed with a focus on how cool and comfortable you can stay during midsummer rides. It is thin and highly breathable, and the comfort feels less like wearing a jersey and more like wearing a summer base layer. For those who simply want a light and cool jersey, this is definitely one I recommend. This season adds new colors and patterns, resulting in a rich lineup.

Also, the item I'm most interested in this season is this pair of bib shorts.

[Cafe du Cycliste] M’s Marinette Bib Shorts ¥25,800 (tax excluded)

A common characteristic of all Cafe du Cycliste bib-related items is the incredibly pleasant texture of the fabric. Of course, they have high functionality to support cyclists in various situations, such as patterns calculated for efficient pedaling and highly cushioned pads made by Cytec, but what I really want to convey is how good they feel to wear. I'm sure that the moment you slip your legs into them, many of you will feel that soft, wrapping comfort. One more point worth noting is this coloring. I am personally very drawn to this unique shade of blue, which is different from standard navy, and the other color we have in stock, khaki, is a color you rarely come across for bib shorts. It’s inevitable that bib shorts end up being black, but if you consider it the same as wearing denim or military pants in your daily style, it should become naturally easier to incorporate. Your favorite, frequently worn jerseys will surely show a different side of themselves when paired with these Marinette Bib Shorts.

Of course, we have many other items in stock besides these.

Currently, the lineup at the Circles web shop is steadily expanding. However, there are many people who would like to actually try on the apparel I introduced this time. We aren't quite at the point of offering a service like ZOZO-suit, so please feel free to send us an email or similar inquiry and we will answer you thoroughly. Even so, it is quite difficult to convey the feel of the fabric when you actually put it on. Perhaps there are some of you who wish Circles was nearby. Hoping to satisfy such expectations as much as possible, we have prepared to let you see the Cafe du Cycliste items introduced here at LIFE SPEC COOP Vol.2, an event marking the 3rd anniversary of ALL YOURS, which will be held this weekend at Setagaya Manufacturing School!

In addition, you will be able to try on and purchase cycle apparel like the recently arrived new items from Ringtail, which Shige introduced the other day, and Search and State. We will also have T-shirts by Gnome Enterprises, for which the artist himself carefully prints each one by hand using silk screen in Brooklyn, making the venue booth look just like a "boutique Circles."

Of course, we are also preparing to have the actual products on hand at the venue, including the RAL HOSE series featuring the new Tabby Light, the new RAL meets holk items that happily sold out in the blink of an eye the other day, and even new shorts from RAL by DEEPERS’S WEAR, created with the cooperation of our event host, ALL YOURS.

During the event, Aya (the only female staff member at the Circles store) and Sim-worker Ryota will join me to make a team of three waiting for you. For those in Tokyo and the surrounding areas, please make your way to LIFE SPEC COOP Vol.2 and visit us in room 105 at the RAL booth where we will be waiting.

We look forward to seeing you there!
