【BLOCKHEAD MOTORS POP-UP】RC Cars × Bicycles: BLOCKHEAD MOTORS Is Coming to Nagoya!

Circles has had a few RC cars on display for years, from back when the boss was really into them. Then, around last spring, we saw Tamiya RC cars go on sale in the CRUST BIKE web shop, and the passion of those former RC car boys came roaring back. Welldone’s Inocchi and I both bought RC cars and got started building and customizing them.

And the ones behind the scenes supporting CRUST’s RC cars were BLOCKHEAD MOTORS, an RC shop in Chiba that has brought a whole new way to enjoy the hobby to the RC world.

Hold on to that first feeling: “That’s so cool!”

BLOCKHEAD MOTORS is run by Jun, a well-known designer and artist. He was a huge RC enthusiast, but as he got caught up in race results and the more technical, gear-obsessed side of the hobby, he realized he was starting to forget that childhood spark—the feeling of “RC cars are so cool!” So he decided to try a freer, more fun, cooler way to enjoy RC cars. The custom cars he built quickly became popular, and that was the start of BLOCKHEAD MOTORS. It all feels a little familiar in the bike world lately, too…

BLOCKHEAD MOTORS is coming to Nagoya!

BLOCKHEAD MOTORS keeps expanding the idea of what RC can be, whether by releasing original models with Tamiya or blending the hobby with all kinds of cultural scenes. And now they’re finally coming to Nagoya.

We’re planning a pop-up that recreates the vibe of their cool shop in Chiba, with everything from the basics for getting started in RC to cars, custom parts, and original merchandise.

On Saturday night, we’ll host a talk show with Jun as our guest. We’ll also be bringing back “Sorry, It’s on TV,” Circles’ livestream, for the first time in four years. Stay tuned!

BLOCKHEAD MOTORS POP-UP

July 13–14, 2024 (Sat–Sun), 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.

RC cars, custom parts, and original items for sale, plus a JUN WATANABE talk show.

RC cars are a perfect match for bikes. They’re fun to build, fun to drive, fun to photograph, and fun to display—a versatile hobby you should definitely check out. We’re also looking forward to events that bring bikes and RC cars together, like the Bikelore RC Car Grand Prix.
