BIKE to SunFes 2023

Circles' bakeshop division, Pine Fields Market (known as PFM), serves up delicious bread, sweets, and coffee early every single morning. This time of year—transitioning from winter to spring—our seasonal menu features delicious items made with fresh strawberries, but the farmer who grows these strawberries is just as remarkable.

PFM's pie choux made with Mitakegoya's "Hope Strawberries." Simply exquisite.

Mr. Hayashi of Mitakegoya in Miyoshi, Aichi, grows strawberries and peanuts using natural and organic farming methods. Few people realize just how impressive the phrase "naturally grown strawberries" actually is; it is a cultivation method widely considered nearly impossible, and it represents a daily, grueling challenge. For more on that story, please check out the PFM article.

A Music and Market Festival in the Fields – Mitake-san Festival 2023

Though still young, Mr. Hayashi of Mitakegoya is well-versed in various subcultures and deeply committed to his local community, embodying the new generation of modern farmers. Beyond farming, he is involved in many activities, including helping to run the "Hashi no Shita" festival in Toyota.

He has now launched a music and market event at the very fields he inherited from his grandfather: the Mitake-san Festival. It offers a generous, inclusive vibe that appeals not just to edgy youth culture, but also to local residents and families, blending music, food, workshops, and agriculture.

PFM will be hosting a booth for the first time this year. We will also be providing a "CYCLE CLOAK" bike parking service, so let’s ride there together. The route itself is quite fun.

We’re organizing a ride along the escape route between Nagoya and Toyota by bike

We discovered this "escape route" between Nagoya and Toyota back when the ToyoRock festival was held at Toyota Stadium, after some local Toyota residents (the Kon brothers) showed us a more interesting way to travel. It’s a pleasant route along the river that includes some gravel sections, offering a charm that the shortest route along Highway 153 just can't match. We’ll be riding at a leisurely pace to ensure it’s fun for beginners, so please join us!
