While doing some SNS patrol, we came across a bar tape that drifted in from overseas and left a vivid impression on us. Our first impression when we saw it was, "Is that a ninja wrap? It’s incredibly detailed for that..."
It was the bar tape Benedict, known for Ultraromance, was wrapping on his own RIVENDELL. Its identity is a material made from woven cotton fabric, and it is aptly named: WOVEN BAR TAPE.
This bar tape features a unique look that you won't forget once you see it, along with the distinct coloring only possible with woven fabric. A thin layer of EVA foam is placed beneath the fabric to provide cushioning, and because the EVA isn't too thick, it is easy to wrap and doesn't look bulky when applied.
As you use it, the texture will change, so just like leather, you can enjoy watching the colors evolve as you "break it in." Wrapping it takes a little bit of technique—you can align the colors perfectly, or you can wrap it so that the color layers shift slightly. Since you can enjoy how the appearance changes depending on the wrap, this is a "best of both worlds" bar tape that is both fun to wrap and great to hold.
It pairs perfectly with bikes that sport slightly wider tires and wide drop bars, such as modern tourers like CRUST BIKES or RIVENDELL, as well as dirt touring bikes. Of course, it’s also a perfect match for the Doppo ATB!
