【WOLF TOOTH】RoadLink DM ~ For those who want it all ~

This is JUS.

The other day, after we closed up shop, Circles’ own Yuya Takahashi—who is one of our younger staff but carries an air of seniority that makes him look anything but—was sneaking around tinkering with his bike. I wondered a little about what he was up to, but I really wanted to get home and watch a movie, so I just headed out.

The next morning, I checked on YOU YA ROCK’s (tentative) bike and found he’d done something quite interesting, so I’d like to share it with you. By the way, we still haven’t decided on nicknames for our three youngest staff members, so we’re taking suggestions.

Here are the items Yu-yan (tentative) used.

【Wolf Tooth】Roadlink DM

Price : ¥3,960 (excl. tax)

Wolf Tooth Components is a group of hardcore cyclists based in Minneapolis who create unique cycling components. They design all of their items in-house and manufacture them in the United States.

This ROAD LINK DM is an item that allows you to use 36T–42T 11-speed wide-ratio MTB cassettes with Shimano R9100 (Dura-Ace) or R8000 (Ultegra) rear derailleurs by utilizing their direct-mount design.

Being able to achieve a wider gear range on a touring, gravel road, or cyclocross bike is a massive advantage! While front-single setups are all the rage these days, I personally recommend a 46-36 front double combined with an 11-40 sprocket, making full use of the GS (long cage) rear derailleur's total capacity; it’s versatile, user-friendly, and lets you power through both climbs and descents!

Please note that the total capacity remains in accordance with the rear derailleur's specifications. (SS: 35T / GS: 39T)

For those of you who are greedy and want to ride over even the steepest of inclines or just want a lighter gear, this is for you!

If you have any questions regarding installation or anything else, please don't hesitate to ask!
