SHIN FABのATBについてはどうですか?

Hey! It's Jas.
I’ll start by saying, no jokes today.
No messing around.
And that’s not a setup for a joke.

After writing the Yamabushi Trail Tour blog the other day, we had many customers come in over the weekend saying they wanted to try riding trails to their heart's content.
So today, I’d like to introduce a handmade All-Terrain Bike (ATB) that will satisfy everyone, from beginners to seasoned riders who have ridden countless bikes.

20161022-29SHIN 650B ATB size S ¥315,000 (excl. tax)

This is a complete all-terrain bike built with recommended parts, featuring a frame from Shin Hattori Seisakusho, which has been appearing frequently on the Circles blog lately.
A hardtail that can climb and descend. You can enjoy everything from local trail rides to park rides with just this one bike.

Drivetrain is SRAM NX 1×11
The NX component group, released this year by SRAM, the pioneers of the front-single, 11-speed rear setup.

I used this component group on the bike I rode through the mountains of Hakuba during the OMM Bike race in July. Between the effortless shifting and the peace of mind provided by the wide-ratio 11-speed gearing, even someone like me who isn't great at climbing was able to power up the ski slopes.

The fork is an X-FUSION VELVET.
Following in the footsteps of FOX and ROCKSHOX, X-FUSION is a suspension fork manufacturer that has become just as popular as the top brands thanks to their excellent cost-performance and performance that delivers way more than you pay for.
With 130mm of travel, it provides solid support for the rider on descents and rocky sections.

The headset is a CHRIS KING—because if you’re going to get a King eventually, why not get one right away?
The cockpit is a no-compromise setup with SimWorks by NITTO RHONDA, HUNTER SMOOTH MOVE handlebars, and WTB MOTO grips. For brakes, you can’t go wrong with SHIMANO DEORE—they’re designed for reliability and ease of maintenance in case of any trouble.

Rims are Velocity BLUNT SS, and tires are MAXXIS ARDENT.
This is my go-to combination. Incidentally, the rims on the ATB I always use for dirt jumping are also from the Velocity BLUNT series. They’re super rims with enough strength that they don’t budge, even when I—at 90kg—jump or crash on them.
The MAXXIS ARDENT features a large-lug tread pattern that promises high grip when cornering, and the spaced-out center tread helps improve braking power and reduces mud clogging.

The SHIN 650B ATB is a bike I can recommend with confidence.
By the way, this ATB is suitable for riders around 165cm to 175cm tall.

We currently have an M-size frame with the same specs in stock. (Horizontal top tube length: 605mm / Seat tube length: 450mm)
This one fits riders around 170cm-180cm tall.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Let’s go hit the trails together!!

By the way, this is my own NEW SHIN BIKE that I shook down the other day.
Here is a quick intro to my 650B hardtail ATB, which was designed with a focus on descending! (As an aside, in the Bay Area, the mecca of ATBs, this is sometimes called a "fun-duro" bike.)

It was about a year ago that I told Shin, "I want you to build me a frame." After repeated planning and dreaming, I told him "This is the image I want" this past May. From there, we shared our ideas, he drew up the blueprints, and this bike was completed.

It has become a dream bike that can conquer any trail.
Now it’s just up to my technique, right???

I designed it primarily for descending, with a slightly slacker head angle, a 160mm travel suspension fork, and 2.5-inch tires. Surprisingly, however, I was honestly shocked at how well it climbed—not just descended—with real efficiency.
I plan to get out and ride it as much as possible this coming trail season.
