I recently watched a TV program about a girls' water polo team. It told the story of how they built the strongest team under a drill sergeant-style coach.
As someone who did nothing but sports as a student, I found myself hooked! I was touched by the way the students communicated with their strict coach with honest eyes, struggling every day to figure out how to build a strong team, and by the coach’s guidance, in which you could really feel the "love."
Anyway, enough with the sports talk; let's get to the main topic.
What is a messenger?
Messenger services originated in large cities like New York and San Francisco around 1950 in the United States, utilizing bicycles for delivery.
The advantage of using a messenger, especially in urban areas, is that bicycles are nimble, allowing for quick, same-day delivery. While standard courier services involve a process of pickup, sorting, and delivery, the biggest strength of a messenger is the ability to perform the shortest possible route from pickup to delivery! It’s also environmentally friendly, as there are no exhaust emissions, making it a convenient service for people who are always pressed for time.
Daisy Messenger is here in Nagoya
We have people performing this role here in Nagoya as well. The only group operating in Nagoya City is Daisy Messenger, located in Shinsakae, Naka Ward.

Every day, they listen to orders from clients, pedal their bikes, and finish their deliveries on the same day.
In fact, I also wear the Daisy Messenger jersey a few times a month and ride through the streets of Nagoya. On one delivery, I took the Shinkansen from Nagoya Station to a company in Osaka to pick up documents, took the Shinkansen back to Nagoya, and then delivered them by bike to the client’s office—a service sometimes called "hand carrying." That's right, messengers can deliver anywhere in the country!
In addition to daily delivery tasks, Daisy Messenger also offers mobile bicycle repair. And they do it by bike!
We at Circles also handle a lot of bicycle repairs every day, but because the number of bike shops in the city has decreased so drastically, we can't offer mobile repairs and only handle them in-store. However, Daisy Messenger covers the city center, including Sakae, Marunouchi, and the Nagoya Station area for mobile repairs, so if you're in trouble, why not give them a try?
It's a service we've been offering for a while, but with the cooperation of Daisy Messenger, we provide a delivery service for web shop orders limited to Nagoya City. The shipping fee is a flat 800 yen, and a messenger will carry anything from a single tube to a bicycle frame by bike.
If the delivery destination is a home or office in Nagoya, messenger delivery is superior even if you just compare the service content!
You can get same-day delivery, specify a time, and even choose to have it left at your door.
And all by bike!
The number of people using bicycles in Nagoya has been increasing year by year. Since a bicycle is a tool used for transportation, it is an unavoidable fact that some kind of trouble will occur while riding. You might encounter unexpected issues like a flat tire or a broken chain. In such cases, don't hesitate to call Daisy Messenger, and they will come to your rescue with a single phone call, so rest assured!
Also, as Circles and Daisy Messenger work hand-in-hand, they are deeply involved with our fully operational WEB SHOP, so I would be very happy if our customers in Nagoya City would make use of our "local delivery" service!

So, when should you use the messenger service?
For example:
・When you get a flat tire on your commute, purchase a tube so you can fix it and ride home!
・Even if it’s not urgent, you can get bike maintenance parts like cleaner delivered on the same day if you choose to have it left at your door!
・If you're coming home late from work, you can specify a time to have outdoor gear delivered while your family is home so you can enjoy the weekend!
Messengers will promptly deliver these common, everyday requests to your door!
