-LIFE HACK-

Hey there.
It’s Jas.

Straight to the point: do you know what this is?

It’s normally used as a mount for attaching lights to a front rack, but today I’d like to use it to solve "that annoying problem."

I’ll be demonstrating this on a Surly Disc Trucker, but if your bike has an eyelet on the seat stay bridge and uses disc or V-brakes, it should work for you too—give it a try.

Yes, I use this saddlebag too.

[Porcelain Rocket] VERA ¥17,000 (excl. tax)

A large saddlebag boasting a capacity of 7 to 13 liters.
It has become an essential item for long rides and camping tours, but there is just one thing that bothers me: it's hard to attach a rear light.
Because, well, it’s huge.

When that happens, just attach this to the seat stay bridge.
Then all that’s left is to mount the light and you’re done.

For a rear light, I recommend the CatEye RAPID series.
It comes with a FlexTight bracket (SP-11) that allows for angle adjustment, so you can keep the light horizontal. This bracket is fantastic.

What I’ve introduced today is just one example.
I’ve got plenty of other ideas up my sleeve.
Whether it’s light mounting or anything else, feel free to ask me for advice!

It’s game over if you give up.
