The harsh chill of winter is beginning to make its presence felt. The autumn scenery you can only enjoy at this time of year and the crisp, cold air are delightful, making this a perfect season for riding. Once midwinter arrives, road surfaces freeze, and I’m sure there are many who stop cycling due to the cold. (Though for us, it’s the season we enjoy the most.)

For our 11th-anniversary ride project, we—Ikeyama-paisen and TAKA—have chosen our home turf of Seto. It’s a place that pretty much every cyclist living in Nagoya goes to ride. However, many people find it difficult to spare much time even on their days off, so they inevitably end up choosing the same routes. In reality, the terrain starting from Seto is incredibly deep, and there are still countless roads left to discover. We’ll be joined by Omura-paisen—who is arguably the most knowledgeable person on roads in Nagoya (no doubt about it!)—so let’s head out on a ride together, aimed at a hot spring!!

Seto to Hanashiro Hot Spring RIDE!!
Date / Sunday, December 3rd
Meeting point / FamilyMart at Owari-Seto Station (9:00)
Capacity / Approx. 15 people
Costs / Food and drink, hot spring fee, train fare
What to bring / Helmet, gloves, bike travel bag (rinko bag), towel and change of clothes for the hot spring, etc.
Hanashiro Hot Spring is located southeast of Ena, just a 5-second walk from the Akechi Railway station. Yes, it’s right in front of you lol
Which means???
That’s right, it’s the perfect place to soak in a hot spring with everyone, fill our bellies at the cafeteria next door, and head back to Nagoya by train. We are currently building the route, and we plan to split into a gravel group and an on-road group so everyone can fully enjoy the terrain from Seto to Hanashiro Hot Spring. Look forward to it!!
