日常について考える…

Because these are tools we use every day, we want to use good things for as long as possible—this is true for bicycles just as it is for the clothes we wear. And I believe that feeling becomes even stronger when you know who made them and in what kind of environment.

The Strawfoot belt is exactly that kind of item for me. I honestly can't remember how many years I’ve been using it, but when I compare it like this, the changes are clear. It might just be a belt, but it’s packed with so many memories.

The Daily Belt, a collaborative masterpiece by Strawfoot and SimWorks, has been renewed. Featuring a simple brass buckle and high-quality leather of just the right thickness, it has been released with a fresh look, now stamped with our familiar Heart & Arrow logo. As the name suggests, please enjoy using it every single day and watching how it ages.

And here is the Yen Wallet, which uses waxed canvas—a Strawfoot specialty. Like leather, this waxed canvas is an item that allows you to enjoy the changing character of the material as you use it over time.

Through ongoing discussions between the SimWorks team and Garrett, we have achieved a size perfectly optimized for Japanese banknotes. Its small size allows it to hold the bare essentials—bills, coins, and cards—and it fits neatly not only into pants or bag pockets, but also easily into a jersey pocket, making it very convenient as a wallet for rides.

Garrett Kautz is based in Santa Cruz. Having once worked part-time at a bike shop, he is also a genuine cyclist, as they say. By working with his own hands to explore and shape the things he loves and is capable of doing, he arrived at his current career of making bags at Strawfoot.

He possesses a very rich and delicate sensibility, along with a high level of awareness regarding craftsmanship. With his motto of "functional and durable manufacturing using high-quality fabrics and materials," he works daily in his small workshop, valuing the importance of compact production using traditional methods and, whenever possible, materials from within the United States.

Because they are things we have around us every day, we want to use items that are durable and that we can love for a long time.
