New product news from SimWorks!
Since the early days of MTB in the 90s, Sycip Bikes has been creating many masterpieces and quality goods through their own unique ideas. Among them is the legendary "JAVA BOY BAR"—known only to those in the know—which was hand-bent one by one back in the day and supported by old-schoolers. However, its delicate shape made mass production difficult, and it never reached the stage of becoming a commercial product. Now, by mixing the ideas of SimWorks, Nitto, and Jeremy, we have created a handlebar that retains the feel of the original while being a truly excellent product that fits the "modern" era perfectly.
Sycip Design “JB Bar” made by Nitto ¥6,500 (excl. tax)
Material : CrMo Steel
Width : 640mm
Center diam. : 25.4mm
Bar diam. : 22.2mm
Color : Nickel-Plated Silver & Black
While intended primarily for commuter use, the JB BAR’s unique curves will bring a fresh feeling to your daily ride.
The ends of the bar have markings for cutting positions; use them as-is to be a "New Schooler," or cut them down to enjoy the old-school JAVA BOY BAR style to your preference.
This bike was the winner of the Best Belt Drive City Bike at NAHBS 2013. The image of this bike, equipped with mustache bars and electric Alfine aero levers, still leaves a very strong impression today.
Sycip Bikes has fans not only among hardcore male cyclists but is also supported by many women and older cyclists, who place many frame orders. The handlebars used on these bikes vary widely, from standard drop bars and flat bars to uniquely shaped mustache bars.
Jeremy Sycip’s ambition doesn’t stop there; he created a new type of handlebar, the "JJ BAR," designed to share the joy of cycling even more with beginners and those with physical disabilities.
Sycip Design “JJ Bar” made by Nitto ¥6,800 (excl. tax)
Material : HEAT TREATED ALUMINUM
Width : 620mm
Center diam. : 31.8mm
Bar diam. : 23.8mm
Color : Silver & Black
Designed to accommodate STI levers and aero levers, this size is suitable for all cycling styles, from beginners to experienced cyclists. I would love for this to be used by those who don’t need drop bars but want to enjoy a pleasant ride cutting through the wind, as well as by women riders.
