Shige’s Bike No. 1.
The first bike I’d like to introduce is the one I’ve shared the most ups and downs with.
I’m sure many of you have been captivated by the Hunter Cycles round-top style, and I’m one of them.
This bike, my companion for daily training rides and long-distance treks, isn’t a stripped-down racer, but it pedals comfortably and has a stability that really shines on descents.
Lately, I’ve been running it exclusively with 28c tires, using it as an explorer bike that doesn't shy away from dirt roads. The components are the 7900 Dura-Ace series, which have faded into the shadows now that everything is 11-speed, but I got them at a great price from Kyutai-san back when I was a student, and I have no doubt I'll be using them for a long time to come.
