Run Natural

My latest obsession is running. I’m not yet at the point where I could truly call it "running," but I’m gradually increasing my distance. There are many reasons for this, but the biggest is wanting to get a good workout in a short amount of time. It’s also good training for cyclocross. Those are the reasons I started. However, I’ve avoided running until now (if anything, I disliked it), but once I tried it, I realized it has a different kind of joy compared to cycling. Perhaps it’s because it’s so simple. After all, the only thing you really need to keep moving is a pair of shoes. I’ve only just started running, but I’ve really come to feel how important those shoes are.

The concept behind the ALTRA running shoes we began carrying this season is to prevent various running injuries and be the ultimate shoe for natural movement.

Of the lineup, the PROVISION model I’ve been testing is a highly versatile shoe. From road running and walking to light trail running, it’s useful for everything from training to racing; it’s lightweight and very stable.

And trail running, which is one of the activities at RIDEALIVE at the end of this month, has its own charm, different from just running around the neighborhood. It’s a lot like cycling—the impression is close to the difference between a road bike and a mountain bike. Plus, Mr. Takagi from ALTRA will be joining us for RIDEALIVE. Since he’s such a cycling enthusiast that he was just bikepacking on the Noto Peninsula with his friends the other day, I’m really looking forward to the day of the event.

Next time, I’ll introduce some gear perfect for camp rides like RIDEALIVE, as well as things I actually use! So stay tuned!
