RIDEALIVE Activity Information Vol. 4

Thanks for waiting. We are now introducing the final activity for RIDEALIVE 2015: Trail Running!

Yesterday, we went to Mikawa Kogen Camp Village to scout the route with Inocchi-san from Welldone and Motonobu-san, who are experts in mountain activities and will be leading the trail running session on the day. Unlike running through the neighborhood, trail running on mountain paths (hiking trails) has a different kind of charm.

The route for the day follows the Ontake Shrine stone Buddha walking trail near the Mikawa Kogen campsite, a course that takes you past about eight stone statues. You get the feeling of being on an adventure while pushing through the plants, and the variety of stone statues is quite a sight to behold. Since it’s more like a hike, I think even first-timers can join with peace of mind.

Once you clear the trail, you are greeted by cows. We don't often get the chance to run through a pasture, so even during the scout, we were getting pretty excited. As you continue further through the ranch, you arrive at a hill with a beautiful view.

The three of us couldn't help but think how delicious it would be to brew some coffee right here. So, we’ve decided to set up a coffee break at this spot on the day! Coffee tastes exceptional after a run, doesn't it? If you'd like to participate, please be sure to bring your own mug.

Also, this Trail Running activity is your chance to test out ALTRA shoes, which we have started carrying at Circles. Experience the benefits of the trail models, the Lone Peak and the Superior, for yourself. Above all, I am personally looking forward to the lecture on mountain etiquette and running techniques from Takagi-san from ALTRA. Ah, I can't wait for the day to come.

As for me, I’ll be taking plenty of photos of everyone enjoying their run. Stay tuned!!
