RIDEALIVE (Apparel Edition)

The photo above was taken during my solo camp ride on the Noto Peninsula last September. Honestly, I considered building a new bike for RIDEALIVE, but I decided that I’d rather go with a bike I’m used to riding and gear I’m accustomed to using, so I'm sticking with this style again this year. It's a classic style that is far from ultra-light. The Salsa Casseroll, which is versatile enough for everything from commuting to touring, is the longest-standing partner in my stable. I find it incredibly unfortunate that they stopped production about two years ago, though... (All-City’s Space Horse and Surly’s Cross-Check are similar, so be sure to check those out.)

Now, for the RIDEALIVE (Apparel Edition), I’d like to introduce some apparel and goods that are perfect for camp rides and the summer season!

[SEARCH AND STATE] S1-A Riding Jersey ¥19,000 (excl. tax)

With its simple design, the SEARCH AND STATE jersey matches a variety of styles. I wear it so much that it's practically falling apart. The best thing about it is, above all, the comfort. It has a relaxed silhouette that isn't too tight, it dries quickly, and you don't have to worry about sweat odors. The fabric has a nice luster to it, and I like that it manages to feel classy despite being a jersey.

[SWRVE] Indigo CORDURA Denim Regular Short ¥12,000 (excl. tax)

These SWRVE shorts are highly popular among Circles staff and customers. They’re famous for being tough and, more than anything, easy to move in, with a design that keeps you comfortable while cycling. They’re perfect for a wide range of situations, whether as everyday wear or as riding gear.

[PATAGONIA] Houdini Jacket ¥13,000 (excl. tax)

The nights during last year's RIDEALIVE were a bit chilly, so my windbreaker was a lifesaver. This Patagonia windbreaker, designed for trail running, is something I highly recommend for camping and your upcoming rides. It’s highly weather-resistant, breathable, and ultra-lightweight. It’s also packable and folds down so small that it’s very easy to carry around.

[COCOON] Microfiber Terry Towel (S) ¥1,200 (excl. tax)

The summer heat continues. I’m sure you’re all dripping with sweat during your rides. I truly believe a towel is an essential item for any ride or camping trip. This Cocoon towel is compact enough to fit right in your jersey pocket. Despite its size, its absorbency is outstanding—it can actually absorb seven times its own weight in water! Definitely take one along on your next ride or camping trip.

Whether you’re participating in RIDEALIVE or not, summer isn't over yet. Why not take another look at this video and make plenty of great summer memories!
