The two key figures who traverse the dusty, arid trails of Los Angeles as freely as a ringtail cat flicking its curly tail are the stars of this story.
RingTail is a new brand launched by Sean Talkington of Team Dream and Kyle Kelly of Golden Saddle Cyclery.
Having built diverse careers in bike shops and cycling apparel, they felt it was the right time to start creating their own products. They began crafting apparel capable of handling the climate diversity of Southern California—from the ocean and mountains to the desert—while remaining versatile enough for use anywhere in the world.
RingTail was born from a strong desire to create apparel that functions perfectly in the saddle, inspired not by the functionalism-obsessed modern cycling apparel, but by the team kits of the 90s and other iconic designs throughout cycling history that they find cool. Furthermore, all of these garments are made in Los Angeles.
[RingTail] Block Breaker Jacket ¥19,800 (excl. tax)
[RingTail] Breezer Vest ¥17,800 (excl. tax)
[RingTail] Don Cherry Cap ¥3,500 (excl. tax)
Made from lightweight nylon, these garments are not only minimalist at around 80g, but the vest also features a Lycra mesh back panel, making it easy to regulate body temperature in changing riding conditions. Both the jacket and vest come with packable pockets, allowing them to be stowed away compactly when not needed—perfect for stuffing into a jersey pocket or strapping under the saddle.
Another hallmark of RingTail is its unique aesthetic, which sticks in your memory the moment you see it. With details like the tape behind the zipper and a color palette more reminiscent of outdoor gear than standard cycling apparel, it stands apart from everything else on the market.
Much like your cereal bar, multi-tool, or smartphone, these are items you'll always want to keep in your jersey pocket for every ride—be sure to check them out!
