You might think I’ve been doing nothing but fishing lately, but of course, when the forecast calls for clear skies during the rainy season, I have no choice but to head out for a ride! Well, if the forecast calls for rain, I just resign myself to going fishing instead. (Haha)
Either way, I’m the type of person who can’t sit still at home on my days off.
So, on Thursday, when the forecast was sunny, I took an invitation from Kazuki-san from Mie—who always takes such good care of us—and headed out for a ride starting from Kameyama.

I had ridden around this area once before while organizing the RIDEALIVE MIE two years ago, but since I wanted to take advantage of local knowledge, I had him guide us on a 75km route that included gravel sections.
And, as expected, it was one uncharted territory after another.
We had paved roads, unpaved roads, and even a stream crossing (something that becomes a fun part of the package as it gets hotter!), and the bikes ridden by the participants were remarkably diverse, ranging from GravelKing 700x28c tires to 27.5×2.22″ SuperYummy tires.
What kind of surface you’re riding on, speed, comfort, pure enjoyment—your choice of tire depends on so many different factors, even just when considering width. There’s no single "correct" answer, which is why I hope you’ll take the chance to try out a variety of tires.
Everyone has their own style when it comes to riding gear. But one thing is for sure: if you plan on putting in a decent amount of distance, bib shorts are essential. And as it gets hotter, they make it easy to just jump into the river, too.
Lately, I’ve been secretly obsessed with pairing bib shorts with a long-sleeve tee or a t-shirt. I’m currently looking for someone to help me make this a trend! (Haha)
Naturally, we have a great selection of recommended bib shorts in the shop, so please feel free to ask us for advice.

Thank you for guiding us, Kazuki-san!
