– Restock!! – RAL / Defender Shirt

Temperatures in Nagoya have begun to dip below 15 degrees Celsius, and it’s getting significantly colder, especially in the mornings and evenings. Winter is creeping closer step by step, but this is exactly the time to get active and stay comfortable, come what may.

Now, regarding the new product from RAL By Deepr’s Wear that we introduced recently, the DEFENDER SHIRT. Thanks to you all, it has been very well received, and while some sizes and colors had sold out, they were restocked today, so all colors and sizes are now back in stock.

Even if it feels cold, once you hop on your bike and ride for ten minutes, your body warms up naturally. Of course, warmth is an important aspect of winter wear, but wearing something that is too warm is also counterproductive. In that regard, the Defender Shirt achieves just the right amount of warmth thanks to the heavy flannel fabric with a slightly brushed lining. And to block the cold wind you face while riding, it features a liner only on the front, with a thin thermal sheet quilted inside, effectively defending the front of your body—which tends to get chilled while riding—against the cold.

It’s a flannel shirt that we think of as a basic everyday piece that you can easily throw on whether you are on or off the saddle. Let’s take a look at how some of our customers who bought it and our staff who are already making great use of it in their daily lives are styling it.

Jasmine chose the mustard yellow. A good friend of ours lately, he picked up a frame for the SSCXWC (Single Speed Cyclocross World Championships) being held in Portland, and he plans to build it up himself at Culture Club. He’s wearing it with the High Kick Jeans he bought along with the Defender Shirt, creating a model example of a city riding style.

And I chose the indigo color. Even if you aren't a fan of plaid, this color is easy to wear without hesitation, so I highly recommend it. I’m wearing it over a warm merino wool base layer, and it’s perfectly fine. When it gets a little colder in the mornings and evenings, I’m thinking of throwing a nylon windshell over it for my commute.

Yanak, whose trademark(?) is the color red, naturally chose the maroon. What’s noteworthy here is his layering technique. He wears the Cafe Du Cycliste BeThe Merino Hooded Top underneath and throws the shirt over it. This provides the functions of a base layer, and thanks to the hood, he can ride comfortably when it gets cold in the mornings and evenings.

Winter is just getting started, so I hope you all find ways to incorporate this DEFENDER SHIRT into your own riding styles! All colors and sizes are in stock both at the shop and in our webstore! Don’t miss out on getting prepared for the winter!
