Today, we are introducing Jacob and Tabby, the latest releases from RAL HOSE, our line of socks. While already popular with many of you, they return with a refreshed look and an even better fit.　

Jacob is a lightweight wool-blend sock. We have increased the knit density compared to the previous model to improve elasticity, and we are releasing it in five colors, including two new ones.
　
Thin, non-cushioned wool socks are standard for cycling. Choosing cycling shoes is a very serious business; there is very little room inside, so you choose the size that fits your foot as closely as possible. I suspect that applies to other sports shoes as well, if not more so. That is why thin wool socks, which offer just the right amount of warmth and moisture-wicking properties, are perfect for winter use.
　

　
These cycling socks serve as the foundation for Jacob, adapting to various situations in daily life, from a heated room to the chilly streets. If you wear the same shoes for a long time, from the moment you wake up until you get home and take a bath, your feet might get too warm and sweaty. The moisture inside the shoe can lead to your feet getting cold and wet, and in the deep cold, it might even lead to chilblains. Sometimes, too much warmth can actually be counterproductive. This could also be said for casual socks that lack features like warmth retention and moisture-wicking.
　

　
We wanted to make socks that balance that functionality while looking great with not just cycling and outdoor gear, but also the casual clothing you wear every day. Jacob is the result of that vision.

As the name suggests, Tabby is a tabi-style (split-toe) sock. Made primarily of wool, it offers excellent warmth and moisture-wicking. With pile-knit construction from toe to heel, it is designed to keep you comfortable during daily life as well as activities like running and trekking, by reducing the load on the soles of your feet. For this release, we built upon the previous model by increasing the knit density for higher elasticity, making it softer and easier to wear. It also shrinks less when washed. While the length and other shapes remain the same, the design is all new.
　

　
We personally love tabi-style socks because they allow your feet to grip the ground firmly, and they provide extra comfort by putting fabric between the thumb and index toe, where the surface area is wide and sweating is common. Of course, another reason is that we started loving to wear Bedrock Sandals when enjoying various activities.
