QUOC NIGHT

I wore my pair of QUOC (formerly QUOC PHAM) FIXED shoes, purchased three years ago, until the heels were worn through, and now I wear the URBANIGHT MID. I’m drawn to Quoc shoes for their comfort and their sophisticated design that doesn't look like typical cycling footwear. The Urbanight in particular is so comfortable that even when I'm on my feet all day, I don't get tired—they feel just like sneakers. It's easy to wear them casually, and I really enjoy caring for them as I would any other pair of leather shoes. They use a refined, smooth leather, and a key point is that, like traditional leather shoes, you can enjoy watching them age over time.

From Quoc, we’ve finally seen the release of the NIGHT, a road shoe capable of competing in races. I remember waiting with great anticipation, as the release was significantly delayed from the original schedule. There is a reason for this: unlike large manufacturers that cater to the market as a corporate entity, Quoc himself—the product designer—searched through numerous cycling shoe factories but couldn't find one that would produce the quality he insisted on. But at last, the finished shoe is a true Quoc road shoe, packed with his vision and dedication to functional beauty. Since many of us here at Circles wear them, I asked our staff for their thoughts on using them.

Tomoda (TMD)
Foot size: 26.5cm (actual measurement), not wide or high-instep
Size & Color worn: 42US, Black
Previous shoe: GIRO Trans

“Just as Quoc told us when he visited Japan, these shoes are perfect for long rides. I’m currently using them mainly for #GURUREN, and the sole provides satisfying responsiveness even for sudden bursts of speed. The pedaling feel is close to my previous Giro EC70s. Above all else, I can’t get enough of the beautiful silhouette when worn.”

Shousei (SHOUSEI)
Foot size: 27.5cm (actual measurement), not wide or high-instep
Size & Color worn: US43 / Pink

“It’s a bit embarrassing to admit, but these are actually my first road shoes. I’ve always used dirt shoes, but I decided to try road shoes, so I bought the Quocs. Having mainly used nylon resin soles, these felt much stiffer in comparison. However, as you wear them, you get used to them, so I don't think that’s a worry.”

Ikeyama (SHIGE)
Foot size: 24.5cm (actual measurement), slightly wide, not high-instep
Size & Color worn: US40 / Pink

“I’ve worn various road shoes over the years, but before switching to the Night, I preferred Giro's nylon resin sole models. Since I often go on gravel rides, the flex characteristic of nylon was convenient for when I had to push my bike or for the long distances I often cover.
Rather than the rock-hard stiffness I feared from carbon, these have a nice amount of flex, so they feel natural even on relaxed long rides. They transfer power to the pedals very effectively.”

Generally, the leather upper models are a popular choice for those with wider or higher-instep feet.
Of course, while the microfiber upper is not quite leather, it is extremely adaptable to the feet.
Since the Giro FACTORs I used to love are falling apart, I’m considering picking up a pair in crisp WHITE.
We have a wide range of sizes in stock, so please come by to at least try a pair on!
